Boston area went union a few years ago and it’s been radio silence since. Anyone know what they eventually agreed to? From the rumors it went a LONG TIME before an agreement was reached for the first contract.

The union in Detroit back in the day was utterly useless. walked the picket line came back to the same deal on the table as when we went on strike. yep, I know what unions don't do in general.

I agree unions did exactly what for NCR Techs, not much from what I remember, poor performing techs got the same raise as the top techs were, yeah, go union.

@2wzo+1pePJ7BZ This here shows your knowledge of what unions do. They cant help a worker if they are under preforming as expected. But Ncr was smart in dealing with the NE union. You non union ces were give a pay raise based on what the union bargain for. It was always alittle more. But union member had some other perks. Thats probably the main reason behind the rest of you not to join. I can say without a doubt that during the merger with att their techs made alot more. Most had to be interviewed to be rehired from ncr. Those tec made more per hour than original ncr ce. Once this was found out those union folks got a bump in pay because of the union. Coulda been all the ce’s. A few bad union years ago put a stain on what union do. Now you can look at UPS and UAW contract negotiations could do if all participated.
I find it odd how people comment here, the ones who say a comment came from a person who was terminated for under performing. The same person believes they will work hard, be rewarded, and their job is safe. Yea, that’s actually what they think, lol
Got a fully remote job with better pay. Just keep on learning and look for better opportunities.
