Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

See you Tuesday, March 5

So many on Reddit have been hand-wringing about how awful working at GM is. Not enough pay, no free coffee, blah blah blah.
So many say they will quit after their bonus is in the bank.
But here’s the thing. Tens of thousands are being laid off, especially in tech. The jobs have dried up.
I’m calling bull sh1t.
I’m sure many in upper management are hoping they quit but the Reddit folks have no leg to stand on.
The complainers will eventually leave GM, though it won’t be on their terms. Then they will find out how good they had it.

We are one month past the Team GM payout.
Not a single person in my group, or any of the groups I work with have left the company voluntarily.
I recall a lot of noise and rumors.
Huh. How's that job market out there?

Genuinely curious to see if anyone in my group ended up quitting tomorrow morning.
I'm assuming none, but who knows.

Ah, no. Some of us can write.
But let's say it was AI. (Hint: AI would not mention that it was "mansplaining")
Are you going to dismiss the substance of it or take it seriously?
It is great to question a source but do you have an interesting or novel response?

Yeah - if you tried to find a place on the outside that would match the total compensation (base pay, bonus, 401k match, vacation, holidays, ect) it’d be tough. I hear some can a paymatch elsewhere but add that pay with the other perks at gm and imo folks should stop their bi--hing. Worry about yourself and what you can control and life will be a lot better off imo.
