Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Extreme Ownership - not at State Farm

I was listening to a podcast featuring Jocko Willink a retired Navy Seal officer.

In the podcast he said that any leader who doesn't take ownership for the actions of their team is a psychopath.

When you look to what happened to my co-workers, stabbed in the back and sent to another company, it made me realize that there are no leaders in the ET department.

Look at Margo H. who sat in her chair for how many years? She let the area fail. She let them fail at Service Management, Product Management, and upskilling. She failed them and threw them under the bus.

And look what she did, she blamed all the analyst for the problems. And those above her applauded and rewarded her.

That is your dealing with. Wake up people.

I just heard that our fearless (u-k) IT leader is referred to as CB -crybaby by his peers due to his constant whining when he doesn’t get his way. Waahhhhh

leadership is 100% standing behind the HCL decision and brushing off criticism about it. Like "ticket numbers are down!" may not be the metric you want to use if people are avoiding contacting support now.

Great call on Primetime. Don’t ask an Ohio agent to speak freely about mod but rather bring in a family member. Look forward to the upcoming sessions and hope we get ma and pa and cousin Larry. Really good read on how the employees value nepotism.

@7hkw-hmmm, a start up going bankrupt vs a company in business over a 100 years and number 1 in their industry for over 80. Really d-mb comparison.

@7hkw…..WeWork has nothing to do with us. Commercial office space became completely un rentable post COVID. Their entire reason for existing suddenly went away.

For all you screaming about how financially sound SF promotes: WeWork valued at 47 BILLION just filed for bankruptcy.

Did State Farm get DOWNGRADED and lose 13 buh buh billion? Yes, yes it did. Only one person's fault. The klown prince of SF.

Don’t be an id--t. If anybody wanted F A for the salary we are paying him - he would be very long gone

SF has the highest financial rating in the Industry. Only 5% of companies hold that distinction. @2obb-loves to spread misinformation as well as juvenile comments, most of which get removed….

State Farm didn’t get downgraded. The financial outlook did. And it got downgraded for the entire industry. The rating agency even SPECIFICALLY STATED that State Farm maintains its highest possible financial strength rating.
The ability to understand and process information is one of the things that separates leaders from…..whatever roll you occupy.

Did State Farm get Downgraded? If a company gets DOWNGRADED who's fault is that. I mean who would be responsible? Is it the janitor? A secretary? Oh yeah, it's the CEZero. Sorry Tipstard, you're fired.

@1xkf It would have been cool to be an old school Claims TM before the EOM and HUBs time. They weren't up in your business all day and left you alone as long as you got the work done, just waiting for you to come to them when you needed something. Now every single manager in claims down to the ILR TM is a huge bo--r in your a-s all day "coaching" over even the most trivial of stuff. The new way of being a micromanaging numbers obsessed psycho is why I chose not to go that path. It's not real leadership anymore. The kind of things that TMs do now I wouldn't be willing to do to anyone else in exchange for the title/money. Being a CS is way better than being any ILR or Express TM.

A long time ago management told me it's who you "schmooze" with. That was my deciding factor that made me NOT go into leadership. If I didn't qualify on my production and work ethic, I didn't want to be a phony plastic politically correct phony stepford type. SF is full of them. I didnt then and I wont now. Sad to say but thats corporate merica. They have lists and have decided who they will promote before they even post for the position. The rest of the process is BS to show they have jumped through the hoops. Aint no different than politicians. Listen to them talk. They give themselves away with words and phrases like "fit in" He/She is a player. And so on.....Believe in yourself and dont jump off the cliff if everyone else does.

In my area we play where’s F in the spirit of where’s Waldo. He is laughing all the way to the bank, is highly disliked, and not connected to his or his colleagues teams, and nowhere to be seen except for the occasional pop out of a cupboard. I guess having a small group of people to drink with is the best way to get ahead.

Very true! Well said! Spot on! That's the difference between a pencil pusher, a numbers person, and real leadership. A lesson they need to learn. Life is NOT all about me.
