Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

General Motors, DEI and ESG

Have you been rejected for promotion over someone with much less experience and education and that person turned out to be a "DEI" candidate? GM managers are certainly bold and shameless about this.

It's frustrating isn't it? It's actually demoralizing. I mean, why strive? Why care? There's no point! The perks you would normally earn by putting in the extra skill, time and effort are always outside of your grasp. Once you give up, your manager can simply point at your lack of engagement and say that THIS is the reason you are ineligible. Infuriating and it will only bring GM quality and sales down.

It's time we go public and out GM. Start gathering up all of your DEI/ESG emails and other materials, save them and send them to the press. It's time for a public boycott, Bud Light style.

Do you think this isn't really a soft spot for corporations?
Ford just announced that they are, "stepping back from DEI policies."
They are joining Lowe's, John Deere, Tractor Supply Co., and Harley-Davidson.

Let's put the heat on this corruption! I believe putting incompetent people in charge is one of the main reasons GM experiences quality issues like the recent transmission issue. We will see more of it and we all know why.

One more thing: I suspect GM will also make an announcement publicly similar to Ford about moving away from DEI but quietly continue to elevate incompetent people based on their race and gender. If they do, continue to gather information. Some of us might want to contact an employment attorney.

The light has illuminated Walmart.
It is time to shine that light on General Motors.

"This article on Will GM Workers Join the UAW's Potential Mega Strike? offers a deeper look"

Which article? You didn't post an article.
Apparently, this copy/paste snipped from union propaganda was a half-effort, just like all union efforts.

It's indeed disheartening to feel overlooked for promotion, especially if it seems linked to company diversity policies rather than merit. However, it's crucial to consider all aspects of corporate decisions, including how they align with broader industry movements and worker sentiments. This article on "Will GM Workers Join the UAW's Potential Mega Strike?" offers a deeper look into the current climate at GM, exploring not just DEI policies but also broader labor relations and potential strikes. Understanding these dynamics can provide a fuller picture of the challenges and changes within such large corporations. For anyone feeling the effects of these policies or interested in the future of labor movements in big auto, this read is essential. Take a closer look here to understand the broader context.

DEI, ESG and EVs are globalist concoctions. Dreamed up by control freaks who wish to divide and control us. Mary embraced them all for Blackrock loans and government contracts.
If you think this is "conspiracy theory" talk, you need to start educating yourself.
That aside, the most amazing thing about these three topics (DEI/ESG/EVs) is that some people have taken them into their own identity and believe in them like some kind of religion. Then they adopt all of the attack vectors and talking points of the globalists and paid media shills. It's as amazing as it it disappointing and pathetic. Most often, the ideas are contradictory but the shills and believers remain vigilant - like "men can have a b@by".

"Doublethink is a process of indoctrination in which subjects are expected to simultaneously accept two conflicting beliefs as truth, often at odds with their own memory or sense of reality. Doublethink is related to, but differs from, hypocrisy."

We can see the talking points in the form of attack vectors in these threads and it's staggering. Common sense will always exist. People can attack it but the truth will always remain. It's best to hire the most qualified person. EVs truly are terrible for the environment and run on coal powered electricity. Wind and solar DO NOT WORK all day long and are not sustainable or "free" in any way. Windmills and solar panels burn out and go into landfills. EV battery technology is made of precious metals that are not sustainable and TOXIC for the environment. EVs are not profitable and any company that shows profits are using investor cash to prop up the failed business (TESLA, RIVIAN) And of course, there will always be 2 g3nders, no matter how you slice & dice the words (amount other things). Remove the investor dollars from the stock market and see the whole house of cards fold. Don't believe me? YOU WILL SEE IT IN REAL TIME SOON.
At one point it's going to be healthy for people to admit they were very wrong to follow this agenda.

DEI or Affirmative Action placements frequently are disastrous. Giving a high responsibility job to someone without the skills helps no one. Training your new boss and covering for them quickly destroys morale and respect. When failure is obvious, the anointed one will just be moved around into a less visible position.

DEI doesn't guarantee sh-t. You're just racist and s-xist.

If you want the job, just network and you'll get it. I bet you didn't even contact the EGM beforehand for the job you wanted.

People may get placed in positions they aren't clearly qualified for but it's not because of DEI. They usually have someone advocating on their behalf or established a relationship with the team they're joining.

"I have seen people who were put in positions beyond their capabilities because they were the right race or gender."

Do you remember when GM was lecturing us about "imposter syndrome"? That was no accident. They knew exactly what was happening. In their drive to appease the woke puppet masters at Blackrock, they set up untold number of unqualified people to fail in some pretty serious jobs. Thank you for bringing this up. The burden of DEI is not just carried by the people blocked from promotion or fired; it also falls on the unqualified people who are stressed out and possibly having mental anguish from not having the skills, training, education and capacity for higher-level positions.

I would be considered a DEI employee, but was laid off in previous years due to age and salary. They then have to lay off younger workers to make the age average look good. I have seen people who were put in positions beyond their capabilities because they were the right race or gender. So it did happen. And it sadly backfired for the person put in that position.

Ummm majority of upper management is non dei hire aka white men.

Cmon. It’s like people saying to be careful of Jamal or Jose on the corner (implied blue collar crime) vs John Doe in the SLT suite doing the white collar crime (which everyone ignores in favor of the easier target).

Don’t be a victim and blame “DEIs”. Don’t get su-ked into that mindset. If you’re laid off recently, I’m sorry. It is GM but move on and don’t let GM poison you anymore.

OP must have woke up yesterday if OP thinks this "corruption" is a symptom or cause of DEI when it's the "not what you know, but who you know" culture that built these leadership teams. It is the perception that the "Good Ol' Boy" network is failing that is making some of you uncomfortable.
