I got mixed feelings after visiting this website, though I was super excited to sign my offer. What are the main pros and main cons of working at L3H in your opinion? Any genuine reasons to say no for an opportunity with l3H, if am currently working for a smaller business?

I've been with the company for two years. I was very fortunate and I now work 100% at home because of Covid. I work for Palm Bay, but live in another state. I am getting a decent salary (most that I ever made), and I'm given the type of work I enjoy. Sorry guys, I really like L3Harris. The people are nice and helpful. I don't have ppl micromanaging me. I will stay with L3Harris as long as my health will allow me. Sitting 10 hrs/day isn't the best thing for my body.

In reading the original post "Pros and Cons of working at L3H" the truth based on experience is L3Harris is NOT the company you want to join if you want to grow your career and obtain solid professional work experience. Many aspects of this company are in decline as are the lack in new contracts. Divisions which have experienced success or are marginally profitable have been or are in the process of being sold off to prop up the waning stock price. The long and short of it are there are just too many other companies out there hiring which pay better and offer a better-defined and clearer future path in terms of a long-term career and company viability. L3Harris cannot provide any semblance of career or programmatic stability over the long term.
Savvy up. You're just gonna get the whiners here. Not reality. Try it. Find out for yourself.

I was cleaning out some old paperwork from a cabinet and found my L3 healthcare package/contributions files. Things have changed. When I joined L3, I paid about $127 a month total for medical, dental and vision combined. This was for a single person, no dependents added. When it became L3H, the costs skyrocketed and the coverage was watered down and deductibles raised considerably.
Happy to say that I now am with a wonderful company and pay less than $20/week for medical, dental and vision combined. The deductibles are low and the coverage is second to none! Absolutely incredible. Even my doctor's office remarked on how good the insurance plan is!
L3H will never value their employees enough to offer anything like this. HR will try to sugar-coat it when making an offer, but the insurance is garbage.
(So, all the HR trolls out there... don't bother to say anything false. We all know better.)

If you are young and easily impressed then this place is ok. If you are experienced and making a few bucks then they want to push you out. Join, stay 2-3 years and get lots of training then seek new opportunities. Companies that treat their experienced employees like sh$t often fail. The folks that get options and bonuses are Senior Directors and above and the pool gets smaller every year. HR also mandates forced rankings (last year was 35%, this year it was 25%) of your team would be in the exceeds expectations pool. The difference between pay is less than 1% for exceeds and meets expectations so whats the point of busting your backside to work weekends and nights. Bottom line, its all about the stock options and bonuses and that club is pretty exclusive.
It depends which L3Harris business segment/division you are joining. Research the division/location you are joining and find out about their history and more importantly the history of their management. If the senior management of that division has been there for long time, be concerned. those are the worst division to work for. These head of divisions and their supporting inner circle are set in their old ways and have mastered the art of surviving for decades and won't blink for a second if they have to throw you out to save their jobs. Depending on which business division you join, the culture WILL BE different. If you decide to join, you will see many memos and announcements come down from corporate but then you'll notice the management of your division may only do the minimum to support it so they keep their jobs.
Aside from that, joining a big organization like L3Harris means you are just a number! take this to heart. I'm telling you from personal experience. They will praise your work and treat you like a king but you are just a number, a small part of a big money making machine. If and when that day comes when they need to cut cost, you can be out on the street and they will justify it six days from Sunday! The rest of the claims they make that "we're a family and a team bla bla bla...is just bu-----t to keep you engaged. Do your research and weigh the risks vs benefits. and above all remember, you are NOT joining L3Harris, you are joining the company that division was before L3 or Harris bought them. good luck!

Why would I even need to put more effort into it? I know 3 languages including English and you probably know one. To me, I don't need it, I don't care about it, and I don't even think it is that important for me.
What I really enjoy here is that is is really easy to pick on people and get their attention just to have some fun.

Well, I am doing exactly what you said. I am wasting everyone's time. I am on my weekly vacation for 5 weeks now, and I enjoy playing around here on this website for a couple of minutes in my free time when am just setting around wasting time on my PC waiting for friends/family to wake up, or to come over. It is fun to get all the cr-p out of people and see how nasty, silly and sick people around are. Even if they do attack me, it is stull funny and makes me laugh. You guys are really fun to play with (this is not the first time for me to post here and get laughable responses). I guess am the one wasting your time here during my free time.

FYI - a technical leader and top subject matter expert in a given field does not need to have a doctorate in linguistics and/or English to be able to design the best technologies, write the best codes, and perform the best
Look around, outside the US, and see who are the best and highest ranked researchers, H-index >60 (if you know what that means), and try to find the distribution globally as a function of country or researcher origin. You do not need to a native speaker of a particular language.
The same is true for me, I do not care and will not spend a single minute leveraging my writing or speaking skills in English. I came here to serve this country long time ago, and have worked with really awesome people, but also came across nasty group of people like those who posted below. I am already successful, ranked among top 10% in the U.S. from an H-index prospective, and probably have achieved 10x more than any of you here who have been trying to funny. So, with that said, yes - the previous responses here gave me an indicate about the overall behavior of some people, however it was not the only reason behind my decision (I've already met several people internally, met them virtually, spoke with them, and made my decision based on whatever I felt is the write choice).
Take away: Never ever try to judge someone based on his origin or English skills, etc.. those things do not matter in many fields, specifically the technical ones. You have proven to yourself and others that you still think like a 10-years old kid.

I agree with both of you. So, I ended up DECLINING and returning the offer. The only reason for that is because I realized even before I joined that this place is full with braindead piles of trash that work there. They are really toxic boomers (specifically those who were rude when responded to my post here) and I don't want to be surrounded with such people.
It's pretty cool that someone is excited to work there and asks a simple question and all they get in return is mockery and negative bs. L3harris is a cringe-fest. I wake up every day whenever I want and the first thing I think of is how glad I am that I separated myself from the braindead piles of trash that work there.

If you've got any sort of decent credentials, you already know your worth. It's clearly HR sitting around and trying to think of ways to get information for their meetings on the culture and climate internally. The fact that this is how they do it, speaks volumes as to the quality of the people who are in charge of hiring. No wonder why people are walking out in droves.
I think it's the fact that no information was presented and only broad questions asked. Some additional information about what the specific offer entails or the amount of time you have to accept the offer would lend legitimacy to who you are, but I see none of that. When someone is accused of something and react defensively that is some "hit dog hollers" action, which makes you looks like what you say you aren't. If you are legitimately who you say you are you should make an effort to assure people instead of being defensive. Just some general good advice for you because I hope you don't act this way in real life.
If you based your career decisions due to comments from an online forum you're either so clueless, or as it's been clearly stated: you are an HR troll on a fishing expedition here. L3H is going through a serious crisis in hiring and company image, so this is where HR thinks that they can go under the radar for ideas.
Hi. Just wondering why everyone thinks it’s HR fishing when people ask a question. I too have currently applied for a few finance positions and came to this board to get some insider insight on the company and ask the same types of questions. All the allegations of “you’re just an HR Troll” concern me about this taking an offer from this company. And the replies in this forum also concern me and I’m no longer interested in working there.
