If you are going to try and copy me, at least try to get the tone right. Unprofessional name calling really isn't my style.

"Maintenance" and all facilities services have been in the process of being outsourced at all US facilities for at least 5 years. JLL got the IFM contract in 2021 and their scope included pretty much all of the old corporate services (mail, food, custodial, building services, etc), much of which had already been farmed out. The maintenance techs at HQ in MN have been largely spared due to union contracts, but anyone else who's part of EWS is definitely living on borrowed time. The ghost town that is Austin is now entirely JLL until they hire a token 3M facility manager to replace the latest victim.

In 18 months only Bald Bob and Wicked Wendy will be left, and even they might not make it that long. They don't have many more 3Mers to RIF in order to make their numbers look good. They've been highly compensated to pass elimination packages down the line the past couple years.

With the facility being out sourced global contract, there will sure to be significant headcount reduction from 3M under plant facilities. I would estimate global reduction to be about 1,000 to 1,500?

3M is not a charity. The company is better off paying for a few do-it-all types like MacGyver than pay for a bloated team of overpaid buffoons. All it takes to fix what breaks at 3M is some duct tape and a Swiss army kn--e.

Peter probably got this suggestion from the wise folks at Kearney. Bill Brown is fortunate to have Peter around.

Go Pete Go!
