Does anyone think we will be forced into getting a covid vaccine? No vaccine no work?

EEOC states that if an employer attempts to make the vaccine a condition of employment, the employer must offer religious and medical exemptions. WM likes to protect themselves, so they will offer exemptions. As far as religious exemptions are concerned, a mere signature is all that is needed. Employers are not supposed to verify it in any way.
No that would make them liable if you had any sort of allergic reaction.
I rather get fired then them force me to get it Walmart isn’t the government they can shove it
Every virus mutates, usually to a less deadly form. Think about it: If a virus mutates to k–l more host (people) then eventually the virus will die out or cease to exist. Not good for survival of the fittest. Virus' will mutate to a less lethal virus to they can continue to survive.
When a virus mutates to a new virus strain that has higher mortality or k–ls more host then the virus is a Novel (new) virus. Hence, the Novel Corona virus we saw at the beginning of the pandemic.
Corona viruses are the common cold virus that all of us have had at some point in our lives. This virus like SARS and MERS mutated to become deadly. Now we have a vaccine so get vaccinated.
Yes, this virus has mutated (as all viruses do, just like the flu) but the vaccine is still effective to prevent the virus. Will we need booster shots one day? Maybe, maybe not. But if people can get vaccinated and we can eradicate this virus we will not have to worry about it again (think of the eradication of small pox)
Just a little history for you— a epidemic/pandemic comes around about every 10 years in some form or another. Just look at how many in our lifetimes: Polio, Flu (H2N2, H3N2, H1N1), HIV/AIDS, Ebola, SARS, MERS, Measles, Zika, Chikungunya, Cholera. Wear a mask, wash your hands, get your vaccination.
@6usy Just like that yearly flu vaccine, which is basically a c-ap shoot every year.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus has muted somewhere and we haven't found the new strain and the vaccine won't work.
The vaccine was not rushed. It has been in the works since the first Covid or SARS cases over a decade ago. When SARS became a threat they came up with a vaccine for that as well as the MERS virus a few years ago. ALL of these viruses are a form of respitory virus. So when you look at the Covid virus and you see those little spikes (crowns = corona) those are what cause the disease and those are what attack the human body in Covid/SARS/MERS. So they have to make a vaccine to attack those spikes/crowns. They made the vaccine to fight SARS and MERS crowns, so the Corona/Covid spikes were just another form to fight. Basically, a plug and play option. Just do the same thing they did with SARS/MERS and make it specific to Covid/Corona. Same vaccine just with specific antibodies for Covid. Get your vaccine.
No, they have no legal grounds to force you to take the vaccine. They could encourage you, or offer consideration (money, bonus, some other benefit), but they can not force you. They could make it a condition of employment, but that would be challenged in court and they would lose unless you were told it was a condition of employment before you started. There’s some discussion at other retail orgs to offer a cash payment to those that will take it.
Wow. What would you expect on a walmart board. Pure arrogant ignorance at best.
If your faimly doctor takes it, take the shot period. It is really shamefull to even have this elemental conversation.
They can not force a vaccine. D–g testing is completely different! Even healthcare isn't making the vaccine a requirement. It will be optional until further testing is completed. Does Walmart require you to get a flu shot? Require you to show proof of vaccinations? No of course not.
Court cases have sided with the employer. Yes they can. Employers do it with d–g tests and employees went along with that.
Forced no, incentives yes.
Probably not effective and with tons of side effects like paralysis, heart attack, convulsions and/or death. Similar to a lot of the other stuff out there. You don't really know all the side effects until the first few million people report them and then with follow up by some whistle blower who screams to the world the additional horrible things that will happen later when taking the vaccine.
Part of me believes the vaccine was rushed as a big money grab. Not a race for the cure but a race for the cash! I will wait to get the vaccine if I get it at all. I am an introvert by nature so basically have self-quarantined myself a better part of my life. I have (knock on wood) not caught the virus or exhibited any symptoms.
As an aside, I was in the first Gulf War (Desert Shield/Storm). We were ordered to get an anthrax shot. We also had to sign a waiver denying our rights to sue the government over any side effects from the vaccine. I can only remember one possible side effect - possible sterility. This is because one guy who definitely wanted kids after his service refused to take the vaccine/shot. He refused orders to do so and had to sign a different waiver.
My experience is not to scare anyone but just advice to be wary of anything in life that seems too good to be true. I'm sure the testing for a coronavirus vaccine was done thoroughly in the short-term but possible long-term side effects won't be known for years, if not decades. What if the cure is worse than the 'disease.'
Same. Rushed vaccine and who knows the long term side effects. I do not even get the flu shot. I have had the flu twice in my lifetime. 34 years old. I think covid is real but I feel the numbers are inflated and not accurate. They say hospitals are reaching full caps but know people that work in hospital in the area and say they have plenty of room. It’s all fear monitoring and control. Also hospitals are given an incentive to mark covid as a death for money. Why are hospitals getting money when a death is covid? Shouldn’t be. I think there is a bigger picture here.
Forced No. Offered free like they offer us free flu shots, probably at some point. I not getting one even if they pay us.
