Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Everybody is looking to leave

I think every single Cenovus employee is at least considering their options, if not actively looking for a way out. At least everybody I talked to told me so. There was a time when this was the place to be but over the years it has apparently turned into the place to leave. It's sad, really.

So here I am, an X-Husky employee as of Jan 2021 (never considered myself Crapnovus even after the takeover), snickering to myself in the background. Sure I have a new job although I'll never see the easy paycheck I had there. I warned of the train wreck that was going to happen eventually. But check this out - I'm totally stress-free in my new position. No more statements of "Sit in front of your computer and wait for a call." I'll kick back my feet, grab a beer and watch what's about to happen.

@2uwm+1cy8GrKO:

Funny you think Cenovus is or was a good company. Atleast Husky cared for its employees. Cenovus is only money game driven by accounting COO.

Husky culture was not good for sustainable business. They lost money on everything, downstream and upstream. Cenovus is being sucked down the “swamp”

yes its sad indeed.

this is the result of having the wrong people in the wrong positions. "Leadership" at site is laughable at best

Yes it is sad but it is absolutely time to leave. There are so many better companies and CVE doesn’t care about it’s people. Who needs or wants to be treated so poorly. When you leave you realize how backwards the management style is. The people that like that company are brainwashed fools. Look at the stock price. It’s so low compared to other producers. It’s always going to be the bottom of the pack.
