Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Many pharmacists are leaving

Any ideas why so many pharmacists are suddenly leaving? Do they know something I don't? Is there going to be another major culling sometime soon?

I'd ask at Walmart Pharmacy but this page is much more active than that one and I'm thinking that my chances of getting an answer are higher here.

@6mud+1iA6Ca7z: that is 100% total BS. You get head hunter flyers in the mail, huh? Really? How long did it take you to dream that lie up? Next thing you’ll say is that they came to your house and knocked on your door

I'm a pharmacist and 3 years ago Walmart was shoving my colleagues out the door if they had accumulated much vacation time. Now I'm getting head hunter flyers in the mail with sign on bonuses. Nobody I know wants to work for Walmart, bonus or not. The people I know who work there say the pressure from management is unbearable.

Ha ha. Like Indeed is a real scientific way to judge openings and hiring. How did you factor in new store openings? And normal attrition? And voluntary as well as involuntary separation? Maternity leaves and Covid LOAs? So basically, all that jibborish about numbers is just BS. If you believe any if that, you’re a fool.

That’s a bunch of BS. Anyone that believes any of that, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

I have been keeping up with the job openings on indeed. There has been 200 in 2 years in my state. my state is very average. So if you extrapolate out to 50 states , there has been 10000 job openings in 2 years. If you push it out to 3 years there would be roughly 15000 openings. The pharmacist workforce is 15000, so the workforce has been essentially turned over in 3 years.

Too bad there’s so much false info here. It’s sad. The truth is that hiring is up and voluntary separation is way way down. The upcoming salary changes will make it even better.

No time for consults and questions...just push productivity of rx fills and shots.. it's all about $$$ and the customers know it. Burn out or get burned whatever comes first.

Better pay, better hours, more tech help, patients are better, the grass is greener and your colleagues are seeing it.

There is no such thing as a lifer. They get rid of you , once you get a few years on you.

Actually, the reverse is true. Pharmacist hiring is on an upswing. Some pharmacists are even getting that new bonus.

Let’s see because they are getting treated like garbage just like all the other associates at Walmart. It’s a freaking no brainer. They’re smart. Get out while you can. Don’t be a lifer. You’ll regret it.
