Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Larry learned from Jeff

lowballing our orders and then "over"delivering to drive the stock price up. cooking the books by lowering expectations so he can meet his incentives, then in 4 years when he can't hide any longer he'll retire with billion$

Yeah I don't mind having some administrative types around. Nothing wrong with that. It's just that we have to be realistic about what value they bring. It's just not much more than any other random employee. So what's with the multimillion dollar contracts. Looks like corruption to me.

You're glad you're not rich. I'm glad I'm very rich.

@6bzv you make some good points. Our leaders are not experts in anything, don't understand the customers, don't understand technology, don't understand manufacturing or sourcing. They all only have finance or legal degrees.

I don't think the changes coming are going to be peaceful. The lawyers and accountants won't be needed and won't help. This is a societal shift that's coming. The rich and powerful have gone way to far in stealing the wealth and opportunity from the middle class. I don't support violence but history says its overdue. The stock increase is minimal considering inflation and the reverse stock split at 8 to1 I think it was. I haven't seen much to brag about from management. Quite the opposite. Just billionaire parasites on the backs of the working people. The managers I see coming in are completely delusional re their value and intelligence. Let's drag this out a while though. It's better than what comes next. I wouldn't want to be rich.

"Help us Lordy, we have 10 year olds in management. I'm giving up on capitalism. Tax the rich and confiscate thier I'll gotten gains! Not because it works because it doesnt, just do it for justice's sake."
they won't pay anymore than what they are paying now
their lawyer will find a loophole in the tax law big enough to drive a bus through it
the corporate media then will point their cameras at another distraction
(racism, abortion, g-ns, trans ... cycle back around)
so you won't hear about the failure until a few years later

The person who said "sit down and color" was right. Larry was hired by the board to increase the value of the company-that being reflected in the per share stock price. The price has risen considerably this year. It has taken time to get here-balance sheet work, regaining the confidence of the public (analysts) and improving the visible performance. For long term growth he also must consider people and culture. The work continues, but it took decades to create the mess and it will not be resolved over night, but Mr. Culp has done just what the board hired him to do. Buy the stock and enjoy the climb.

All I have to say is nice contract extension and we still did not get a raise to keep up with inflation in Schenectady. They are hiring some really un educated people. The trend is going to get worse with these new hires

I hear we are pushing orders out of 2023 into 2024, not because the shop is filled but to impress wall street during 2024 in 'beating' projections.

You are correct. That person should have written, "Please sit down and color".

That kind of arrogant response is why you need to flee from government power. They won't hesitate to enslave or destroy thier perceived enemies. " Just sit down and color" I'll be back later to steal your crayons and finish you off. These people are literally sick in da head
Real life zombies. Their day will come.

You got it no layoffs...until we get the stock established and investors feeling good. You're safe for 2 years, nobody wants to see a 'growth' company laying off. When we have no more runway to hide our pitiful business results, that's when the layoffs will start.
