Somebody mentioned this in another thread and I agree that this would be a right move to make. So let's see how many agree.
Who here would happily accept a VLO with 6 months pay?
Let me start: I would!

Irish leasing firm lashes out at Boeing in US Max jet case
Get In Line
Dublin-based jet leasing firm Timaero has lashed out at Boeing's efforts to
shift a $740m-plus case being taken against it by the Irish firm for late Max
deliveries from Chicago to Seattle.
It’s ironic Boeing - the world's largest aerospace company - argues that it is
Inconvenient for its employee witnesses to fly to its world headquarters in
Chicago, Timaero's lawyers said in court filings this week.
They added that it is "astonishing" that the jet maker is arguing that Illinois
has no connection to the suit, given that its main offices are in Chicago.
Timaero Ireland signed an agreement with Boeing in January 2014 to buy
20 Max aircraft. In 2016,
Timaero converted two Boeing 737-800 orders to Max orders.
The firm is owned by controversial Russian state-owned development bank
Vnesheconombank (VEB).
Boeing’s New Best B.S. it seems that Boeing’s Idiocracy keeps trying to
Out do itself, again and again until they achieve @1fbz+12kPCm1T

"We’re taking action after a range of Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
was recently found in the fuel tanks of several 737 MAX airplanes
in storage", Mark Jenks, the Vice President and General Manager of
the 737 program said as quoted by Leeham news on Tuesday.
OK now it’s just Boeing looking to push the blame onto others for

The Real RTS is by the End of this Year…

If Boeing Executives Are Talking Their Lying
@clom+13a0bgAZ
Others are laying-off
I was not aware of Boeing's Plan
To move thousands of jobs out of Washington state
Good to know, get out Now is my thought
ND that Boeing
Thank You / @5pvv
VLO doesn't work like "Buy it now" You have to be eligible for VLO then your management team have to approve your VLO. Once approved your have to fulfill a transition plan, if appropriate. This means you might have to cross train or knowledge transfer to another employee.
Boeing is two years into a plan to move thousands of jobs out of Washington state, those don't get counted as layoffs, but are basically the same thing.

🤣🤣🤣 Funniest comment I've read on here so far
Take a VLO and get No Recall.
Let Boeing lay you off we will be back to work in full production in 2021
Until then Chill
I don't get why a VLO is so appealing unless you aren't at retirement age. Or you are going to retire in less than 6 months.
Otherwise if you are ready to retire, then retire. Getting a max of 26 weeks of pay isn't going to make that much of a difference
Say what you will about Boeing. We still build the best.
The Max is the strongest most durable single aisle aircraft in its class
To see that aircraft take flight, to see it soar into the ski is pure delight.
The acrobatic feats are breathtaking it’s nearly vertical at takeoff.
The Max is one of the best flying aircraft in the world and better yet it is one of
The most spectacularly crashing aircraft in the world, the strength of the Max
shines in this regime of flight a true acrobatic feat. The depth of those smoldering
pits can’t be beat, try that with an A320. Their so computerized they always want
To belly flop, you can’t get an A320 to Nose dive into the ground like you can
A Max.
Then there’s the cleanup the A320 leaves a large debris field
While the Max is a single deep pit, yes you need an excavator but it’s all
In one place, no need for a search party and their no medical bills to
Follow up with, as there no pesky survivors it’s a onetime payment
Is there anything else the Wall-Mart shopper / poster needs to know?
Do you still have a job?
Do all of your co-workers still have a job?
The only "layoffs" have been at the executive level. When you can show me on the WA state website that layoffs have occured, you have nothing to say.
Let's see posters on thelayoff.com have been predicting layoffs every week for 10 months
Result: No Layoffs
The Boeing Company for 10 months has stated verbally, in interviews, in news articles that they have no plans to lay off
Result: No Layoffs
I wonder who has more credibility?
I think this would be a good PR move to let those of us at, or near retirement age the option prior to laying off folks ( don’t kid yourself it coming on a massive scale ) that need to stay. Yes,it’s what I’m waiting for, will take it .
Have another breakfast burrito everything will be fine.
In a heartbeat!!! It beats getting bussed to work just to do nothing.
Read section 23 of the contract. 26 weeks pay is already a layoff benefit for any one who has 26 years on the "B" team. One week pay for each year of service. That's what happened on the last VLO.
Come One Come All
@137q7m1I-1bfs
Nice try hr.
I'd hit "I accept your VLO and I now RETIRE" and be out the door so fast it would make their heads spin!
Yes
VLO is the answer to this problem
I'm in
Yup
Hell yes
