It’s funny because there will still be folks getting the full bonus or even more than the usual full bonus next March. Anyone who doubts that Mary's EV stance was a con job needs to ask themselves why suddenly Hybrids are the most urgent projects at GM while EV & Autonomous projects are getting sidelined & canceled. She is still taking a big EV game to the press and the GM employees but the people who are actually working on the engineering side KNOW what GM is doing because we work on these projects and know what the new products are.
She's now threatening people to 'embrace evs or leave" for two reasons:'
She's in a trap because EVs are not profitable for GM. If we shift to EVs, GM's is deeply in the red. I have been to the meetings. The upper managers know 100% absolutely that this is true and the parrots and true believers can argue this point until they are red in their faces. There would be no shift away from EVs & Autonomous and toward hybrid if EVs & Autonomous weren't abject failures monetarily, functionally and with sales.
The floggings will continue until morale improves.....
