Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Who's next?

So had a blast at the agency convention but thought it was a little too much and somewhat in poor taste with everything that is going on! Great to see friends, Ed and Garth! One thing that was very obvious was that MT is completely checked out and done. There will be a huge roar and cheer that will reverberate everywhere when he finally announces his replacement but I'm just worried on who it will be. Thoughts? Outsider? Since SF is so woke now, can they dare put in another white male? I think this is the last year of great growth. I've heard that expenses are going through the roof and we are going to start taking a lot of rate. I've noticed a ton more non-pay cancellations too on my morning report... MT is going to run away as fast as he can...get while the getting is good!

@5yaz+1hj9GVHy his son already jumped straight from manager to AVP when a bunch of other qualified people in FO got laid off. Him being CEO in the next 5 years doesn't seem too unlikely

Bahahahaha Time to put down the cool-aid man. Tipsturd is NOT respected AT ALL. I’ve been with SF for 7 years and worked in 3 different departments and I have yet to find one person who respects him. Heck I bet I can’t even find one person who LIKES him! Also, the board is who decides who becomes the next CEO and there’s no way they’d put that little weasel face JT in charge. Once daddy leaves, JT will go too because he knows he won’t get to use SF as his playground anymore.

What specific evidence do you have for MT leaving?

He seems to enjoy the role and be broadly respected.

What is your proof beyond your personal preferences or rumor? What has he actually said or done to suggest he is retiring?

I don’t know any two agents who think alike. And the only time they’re together now is at Convention. Other than that, they’re all alone out on an island. And SF pits them against each other.

Agents wear their red bandana and act just like the cowboys on Tombstone. They're birds if a feather and flock together.

@5lih….a lot of us at Convention used to be in Claims. Made the choice to take a huge risk and try agency.
Hope you enjoyed your safe, comfy cookie.

Hey, glad you had fun with the agent Vegas bonanza. Here in claims we got to eat a cookie between handling claims while administration and support employees got to partake in a fun block party. Handlers were told that we can join the block party after we clock out, which was super cool to have that reward on top of a COOKIE on top of a cheap brand backpack. After 100 years of success built on the backs of claims handlers, I'm not sure I could ask for anything more.

Read with heavy sarcasm please.

It’s SF tradition to keep it in the family. Of course his son will succeed him.

I wonder if they’ll make PS submit his candidacy on the job board? Then, maybe he won’t hear anything for 5 weeks and his interview invite will go directly to the junk email folder like the last round of TM hiring.

Oh and after he interviews, he won’t hear anything, at all, only to realize the opportunity within 100 miles of Bloomington never existed anyways.

@OP+1hj9GVHy- of course it will be a guy lacking melanin. No people of colour in executive and they stick them in garbage claim management jobs making peanuts and taking verbal abuse from trailer trash about their trucks.

PS would be the most qualified internal candidate. Apparently, Board would prefer an external from a stock company-preferably tech background.
