Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

One Schwab Week

Did anyone else “register” for that? It seems like a waste of time. I’m not sure I really care to hear what Chuck and Walt think given how so far removed they are from anything we do or experience.

That was a train wreck.

No worries, we will go in a few weeks, we’re just milking this time until bonus payout. Then you will be left alone in your mediocre metaverse.

And I am so sick of you telling people to go already. We are sick of you being sick of others complaining. In fact, what you are doing is a form of complaining. Complaining of others complaining. And now I am complaining about you complaining of others complaining. I dun no.

I’m more inclined to believe they actually did put this together a year ago. I really hope so because that was so unbelieveably out of touch.

Just ask anyone, if you get into GCP your applications automatically become modern regardless if you can handle a security valued greater than $10,000.

All booked. The gang and I are headed to the slopes. Bringing laptops. Dialing in and then hitting double diamonds. We estimate being able to do a couple of runs while the circle jerk is goin on.

What’s is GCP?

It’s the next thing that STS leadership will blame for not meeting CD1 date.

Wrong. Simon has excellent automation leadership team that can do it! Don't be an IaaShole about it.

@3zjd+1f3NGlWo The Great Resignation has yet to seriously impact Schwab. That ends with bonus payout in early March. Everyone is exhausted, and the thought of another 18-24 months (because who seriously believes the CD1 timeline) is too much. Particularly for TD associates, the bonuses at Schwab are mediocre at best compared to the old plan. People aren’t going to wait until March 2023 for another one.

I agree (with the scarcasm :) ) that CD1 is in trouble. GCP could happen. We have some of best of the best working on GCP. Also GCP is iterative, We learn and go, and revise on future iterations. I am pretty confident our public cloud strategy will happen.

CD1 is definitely an entirely different story. My best guess is so many folks, especially Green, will jump ship after they get their 2021 bonus. We can all just pretend its all good for another month. Then watch the craziness.

No doubt CD1 is going to happen. One quick glance at the capabilities of our STS leadership team will tell you all you need to know. Look at the talent and their accomplishments. Stop stirring the pot. They absolutely have it under control. GCP will happen. CD1 will happen earlier than expected. This illustrious group has accomplished so much already since LD1 happened. Driving all the smart green people out so us mediocre blue people can stay was hard enough.

It’s 2 PM, time to sign off and do pilates.

CD1 is gonna happen. Because we are Schwab, and Schwab is the best. Integration is out middle name. No integration is too hard or too complex for us. Look at our track record. Motif Thematic Investing. Options Express. Wait. Did I say Motif already? Anyways, great track record. CD1 is gonna happen. It's green and on track.

Ok, we're running on tracks that don't exist anymore. It's like a speeding Amtrack without railroad tracks. It's like a headless train, or chicken, running around without tracks. I've seen headless chickens that have more vision, and running in a straighter line.

CD1 will never happen as originally intended. Schwab will just acquire another company to deflect attention.

Of course I registered. Will dial into it, mute my computer, run my script to keep my laptop from locking.

Then go relax on the deck, go for a walk. Play some XBOX.

Life is too short to get wound up about this. Use it as an opportunity to get paid to do nothing. Schwacluture is dog doo doo.

Yeah… this is a 5 day training course on how you can better serve Schwab the company, it’s brand, and it’s clients.

I don’t know why I thought it would have anything to do with celebrating Schwabs employees and bringing companies together.

Our leadership is so full of itself and remarkably tone deaf.

@1wup+1f3NGlWo When Chuck has to deal with audit, compliance, risk, governance, and another other mountain of bu-----t on a daily basis, I will go listen to what he has to say. Until then, I couldn’t care less about his opinion.

I registered. It's always good to hear what the Chairman and Founder of Schwab has to say. His perspective is always interesting. May be removed from our daily grind, and also the issues that some of us experience day to day, but its still an interesting read.

Clearly culture and attrition issues are a problem if they had to set this up to tell everyone to work together towards the same goals.

Too little and too late, if you ask me. LD1 was over a year ago. They only care now because CD1 is deep red and everyone is jumping ship.

I didn’t register. I can think of less disappointing and more productive things to do for 90 minutes.
