Ex MDT VP here... Medtronic has become a great place... to have on your resume. The world outside of MDT is full of new products, enthusiasm, growth, success. My advice- if you are talented and hardworking, the fear of leaving Medtronic is overblown. Take control and see what is out there...

This is true. Other med device employers, and recruiters know what’s going on and they are eager to get good people out of MDT because they know how poorly things have gotten. One recruiter told me they’ve never gotten as many messages returned from mdt employees as the last year. Good to move while the name still has some cachet for your resume.

i just accepted a training role for medtronic and im so worried they will be downsizing

Completely agree. There's so much gas-lighting in the internal communication at Medtronic that employees don't even really know that other companies just Get Stuff Done without 7 signatures and 2 presentations. Medtronic has great pay, benefits and people, but there's real work going on in other places.
