Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

They deal with minor issues instead of solving real problems?

Leadership at Oxy deals with all the side things more than what they really should be dealing with. Just my two cents. Real problems are piling up, and they deal with things that are absolutely not important. That's because they have neither the vision nor the will to fix things in this company.

Oh Karma Troll, everyone knows you just clear your browser history and click that green little arrow over and over. No sane person would up-vote your hate-filled posts.

All oil companies have business development failures.

Examples of real problems?

Track record of significant safety issues for decades, environmental disasters, 70% drop in stock price, massive debt to income ratio, bullying and harassment culture, repeated and significant business development failures, worst industry reputation by far etc etc

@tlu+1bKuW348 Yes but If management is sub-par in the oil field areas then it affects the big picture and the end result is a failing company with a $38 billion debt problem. Low morale, under-performers and animosity amongst employees creates a bad work environment.

Problems? Which problems!!! We are busy trying to write poems and songs about 1PointFive. Stop bothering us with distractions such cost-reduction, operations, GoM safety and Reserves.

These are all organizational people problems and are not the big picture. The big picture relate to the oil field that include reserves, facilities, operating cost, regulatory issues, exploration, etc.

Real problems? People being promoted into management level roles when they do not have management skills.
Men who have issues managing women so either the women are let go or the male is strategically not given women that would report directly to them (aka ‘good ole boys club’).
