Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Layoffs

Many work related topics are being discussed, but rumors if upcoming layoffs have been tame. My guess is that there will not be any for at least the remainder of the year. Just wondering if anyone as a different perspective.

“ You would be wrong. People are still getting notified September 1st”

Would you have any additional details that you can share?

Property Claims in Subro are all ready being worked by the vendor in India. Doesn't seem like they are holding off until next year at all.

Well, if they’re not laying me off, I guess it’s time for me to get off my a$$ and find myself a new job. I can’t do this anymore. I get no backup on my work, but yet I have to do everyone else’s. And then get cr-p about it. Nobody should cry about their job on a daily basis.

Man this is depressing.

I was hoping to get laid off with severance at the end of the year, then start the job hunt after the holidays.

Bummer I have to stick around this toilet for a while longer it seems.

They can’t even hire anyone with the pathetic wages they are offering.

There isn't anyone to layoff. Most departments are already drowning in work, though the higher ups don't seem to care enough to alleviate the situation.

Yes. People can rest easy for the rest of 2021. Aside from some "buyout" offers still coming in October all areas are pretty much safe. They have pretty much rehired all positions that were laid off back in 2020 with lower paid employees and some came back for a little less money to return to the company and kept tenure and pension. Areas that were not rehired back to pre 2020 levels are the areas that need to worry for 2022. The mass move if claims to India is postponed to at least mid 2022 to early 2023 due to the continuing COVID pandemic and the transition from regions to zones is now complete. Things will be tame on the layoff front for the next 10-12 months.

I doubt there will be layoffs as well. Especially with the retention bonuses Allstate is offering. There is a nationwide labor shortage so not just Allstate, but almost every company is trying to get workers to stay. I think covid made a lot of people self reflect when we had lockdowns and people are more cautious about where they work and want to do something they like
