Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Pre contract talks starting in Lynn? Pension elimination- Pay gaps closing - large increase for T's ??

Heard rumors of a start in talks regarding the Contract coming up in 2023. Pension elimination/modification was one of the topics. Another was closing the two tier gap between D's and T's. I foresaw this coming some time ago. With the pension it's just the current National trend. Lump sum those who get it and good luck investing it. With the two tier - it's coming soon that the T's will outnumber the D's. Let's see how things work when the dead weight down at the Hall has to strap on their steel toes and actually show up for work. Funny that the Local 301 Elections will be held after the contract-maybe there is hope to save their positions ?? How about standing for ALL Union members instead of just the "Legacy" guys ??

@eafy+1g24KkXa, I'll play along for a second and agree (I don't really believe it) that the Union/GE relationship was cozy, so what specific deal or deals was cut that was a bi-product of such a relationship

It’s not up to me or you to decide what contracts or agreements stay or go. The company and union were in bed so much more than you know. The contract was not being followed for years while the company literally paid off the union reps. Some didn’t know it was illegal but the higher ranking did. And one from the union and one from HR were literally in bed together. So much you don’t know but you keep insisting you do. There is no convincing with federal investigators, that’s the beauty of it. They get to the truth regardless of whatever BS is told to them. They collect cell phone data, text, emails, video surveillance from atm’s, video from stores, original receipts, original bank statements, credit card statements, etc. before anyone knows that they’re doing it. They literally verify every penny with concrete proof. They don’t accept anyone’s word. We will all get answers once the investigation is over. The fact that it’s a criminal investigation going on 3 years this August is telling. But you think what you must if that’s what you need to sleep well at night. The bottom line is all will be made right very soon. It’s ironic though, somebody is whining about “snitching” while in the same breath claiming innocence.

@5euj+1g24KkXa, maybe the ex-Asst BA from 301 should chair the negotiations. Opps sorry bad idea, he can't even persuade his own local union board. strike that idea

@5euj+1g24KkXa, who gives a dang about the FBI regarding the GE/Union relationship. If people belong in jail so be it. My point is all GE/Union agreements stand. DO YOU GET THAT! Whatever deals were cut, they stay in place unless the rank and file cut new deals.

The International is what you’re banking on and who you’re getting info. from and you actually think they know? Really? They have no clue what proof was brought to the FBI, none. They have no clue what proof the FBI and DOL gathered since 8/2019. None of that information is shared with anyone. You are so naïve that I almost feel sorry for you. Almost. I don’t need luck, I have facts.

@5zmq+1g24KkXa, "no bet" = a BS response. The Int'l I believe is confident that there is no case! The CA, who cares, I just believes it still stands at the end of the day. Change it up and GE shuts the plant down. Good luck Mr/Mrs Simpleton.

I don’t bet. I don’t need to. The company has requested to meet with the Union to make changes to your “perfect,” beloved CA. Did you know that? I know that you know nothing about the criminal investigation. If you think you do then the investigators did a great job. Also, I do believe YOU are the only one obsessed with the CA. The legacy of the CA is already marked by those who were removed from their positions for doing such a “great” job. There were no promotions. Again, it’s obvious to those who have the ability to put everything together. Critical thinking is important when there’s so many factors at play. When you focus on (or obsess) over one aspect you will miss the big picture, clearly. Weren’t you once saying the Union would be exonerated? Then saying that they’d get a slap on the wrist at best? Now it’s that the CA won’t be effected. Facts are that corruption is there, a lot of it. The point from the start of the audit has been to find it and get rid of it. However, your obsession with the CA reinforces the fact that it was a dirty negotiation and you are praying it’s not negated.

: @vki+1g24KkXa, what ideas do you have on lowering the cost structure of US based plants to compete on a global basis, especially for non-US orders? Please share

@5big+1g24KkXa, why the puts downs on critical thinking? Let's bet $ 10K I'm right. I have more inside info that than you'd ever guess. Feel bad about taking your $. They may come after an individual or two, but all of there EXCELLENT decisions will be upheld. You compendia?

It’s funny how you think there will be “nothing of consequence.” Your level of intelligence shows. You lack critical thinking skills and you have an odd obsession with an agreement that has proven time and again that it doesn’t work. Either that or you have a stake in the activity surrounding the CA and you think you got away with it. That scenario is happening with people right now as well. Either way, doesn’t matter. Many people fcked around, they’re about to find out. By the time it’s over the CA is going to be the last thing on anyone’s mind…except you. Obsess on with a CA that was so bad in how it was negotiated that it got the GM of company and BA of Union taken out of their positions, says a lot about you.

@4wrj+1g24KkXa, just so you know, nothing of any consequence will be happening with the Feds. Just ask the IUE-CWA Int'l what they think! There maybe individual changes but no reset on past union decisions. For example, long live the CA!

There is one bucket of $'s and it's size is fixed. Helping T's will be at the expense of the D's. There supposed to be some "boy wonder" ex-Asst Business Manager at Local 301 that can figure all this out

Power WILL be a small part of negotiations. Maybe the Schenectady Local will realize this and start working to help ALL Union members instead of the “Goomba’s” as in past years. I hope to see these clowns on the floor trying to earn their keep. I have nothing to gain but can’t help saying “I told you so” when it happens.

Power will be negotiating with Aviation and Aviation does not have a Two-tier pay scale wishful thinking on the part of t rates. Power is going to be a very small player in the negotiations

Equal pay for equal work. We here it from our “diversity officer”. But in practice, we have a two tier pay scale for hourly employees and a thousand different job titles for salary employees to side step the “equal” part. Imagination at Work.

Well… all this big “T” rate talk. How many will be left to Even cast a vote on the next contract. Open your eyes ,look around that shop, look at management jump ship. There is practically no work, over staffed-with a very bleak outlook on work in the future. The “T” rates will be released from their jobs via layoff - taking their hard work ethics and skill to places like Target,Walmart,Amazon - for equal or higher wages, with better benefits, and futures. I’d take one of those Jobs now, beat the mass of laid off employees looking to secure employment

Two-tier biggest mistake ever sold to the rank and file of the IUE union membership. Hmmm, so what was the real reason for its creation and implementation? 1) Added more workers, lower paid workers 2) Added more work but work that was not guaranteed beyond 4 years 3) We now know this wasn’t for the well-being of members or even GE. So, who and what was gained by this strategic implemented creation?

Large increase for "T's"... Once GE has something, there's no getting it back. If you're not in one of the skilled trades that already got an adder, you can forget that idea.

That two tier system was a mistake from day one. Let's divide the rank and file and expect them to all stick together down the road? The Clowns at the Hall and their predecessors will get what they deserve when this all pans out.
