Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Anything left to give?

I gave over a decade of my life to HON. I thought it was the best in the industry and I was proud to be a part of it. Now, it seems as if everything has gone to he-l in a handbasket and I have asked myself if I’ve got anything left to give. There is no support from management (those days have been long gone) and the only thing I look forward to is Friday because I know the weekend is coming up. Sometimes I feel like it’s time to move on but I refuse to give up. Does that make me an id--t or a glutton for punishment? Maybe both, I think.

OP, you didn't give sh-- to Honeywell or any other company. You exchanged by mutual free will you skills for their compensation. You got exactly what you bargained for as did Honeywell. Neither of you gave away anything; neither of you took anything. Free exchange. Grow the f- up.

How to be a Honeywell manager. Sit at desk all day watching emails come in. Scan for emails from higher level people and immediately delegate and say "do this now". Ignore / delete all other emails. Push your employee to get it done as fast as possible.

I worked for Honeywell for 30 yrs. never minded the work you have people in management that only care about advancing their careers. The workers they hire dont give a dang about doing a days work for their pay. The easiest cr-p gets done the rest sits. Management does nothing. Glad to be gone and waiting to see how far they fall. The problem stems from the lack of loyalty to their employees and then the employees dont have any either. Simple

I stopped giving a looooong time ago. Now I just go through the motions for my 8-9 hours per day. If I see something broken, I keep it to myself. If I see a process that costs
extra time and or money, I keep it to myself because why should I bother saving this company anything? Mad dog wouldn't pi-s on any of us if we were on fire anyway. Nope, I just keep my mouth shut and mind my business. The company doesn't owe me anything, not do I owe them anything.

Congratulations, OP. You win the 'poor, poor, pitiful me' award. What a sap.

@OP been working here for over 3 decades. I never have given the best part of myself to this company(or any other company). My family and the folks I care about the most only got the best part of me. Also, this is and always has been just a job for me. I never let it come between time with my wife either and if it ever came to that I had decided I would walk. Sure it really was better back in the day, but even still there was always something that could have been better or jerks to deal with. My total fulfillment in life has never come from HW and I doubt it could ever come from any employer. You have to learn to keep your life and your job in perspective and try to only give HW the 8-9 hours they deserve. JMHO

Having worked at Honwell’s competition before joining HON, I can tell you that HON was a very tough competitor.

That was back in the early 80’s thru the late 90’s. Then HON ethics kicked in and our customer base started to grow.

After 2000, the customer service decreased and prices increased along with the quality taking a nosedive.

Made it much easier to compete.

Got recruited to HON thinking we could stop the train wreck.

Finally jumped ship and got my sanity back.

You are exactly where Hwell wants you. They are hoping that you are too afraid to move on. If not, they'll place an ad and replace you. Maybe? Experience does not count sh*t with this company. Failing your customers, same thing.

The only thing that matters is executive compensation. Period

Working onsite for Honeyhell over the past year during the covid hoax was the longest & worst year of my life. Hopefully, the hoax will wind down after they run out of Greek letters for "variants", but life inside Honeyhell will never recover from Dairya$$' wokeness & greed.

With the harassment at work, gasoline over $3/gal & climbing, and inflation soaring, my search for a shorter commute is now officially underway!

best in industry - I guess you're not the most astute tbh.
you're employed, HW couldn't give two shites about you,
HW couldn't give two shites about almost all their employees.
Nothing you do matters in the grand scheme of things.
It's only a job (til it's moved somewhere cheaper)
