Looks like a deal was worked on this week, announcement will be coming in the month or two. Hopefully to a better company. At least for Suddenlink side of Altice. We can only hope. Comcast, Charter, Cox?? Anyone heard different?

Altice has announced that all operations are to be stopped on Monday. I’ve been told by a top executive that we will refocus our efforts on another amazing venture. We will be spending the next few weeks going door to door and giving out hugs and handshakes, in an effort to make up for all the wrongs we have created for our customers. Together has no limits. Unless you’re a technician with a family, we don’t care about you guys.
System in Texas had contractors stop work, until a announcement next week anyone in other areas have the same?
@ dfoz+14YwrTDl
They don’t own it.
The best thing that could happen to Suddenlink is to be sold. It was a very good company with good service and employees until Altice bought them out. Altice ruined Suddenlink.
They need to sell the buildings they own just to make a profit
They own the Oakland building
It would be hard to sell a building they don’t own.
“The Oakland office” as in the building itself is for sale? That place is a rental so the property being sold has nothing to do with the cable system.
Hearing rumors continue that Suddenlink will be broken up - multiple buyers. Who knows though. All speculation at this point.
How do you know its for sale(Oakland)
Oakland office for sale
What systems have seen any of their offices closed
They won’t sell Cablevision properties. They never really wanted Suddenlink to begin with, it was just a stepping stone to Cablevision
West will be on clock to see changes, possible weekend schedules, more office closures, and some new visitors, seeing it in midwest moving west
COVID didn’t hurt this business. Good opportunity to steal some more money .
This DRAHI show better get packing soon . FCC’s on his a– now...!!!
Covid has nothing to do with the layoffs just an excuse. Comcast , Charter and others have been business as usual with an increase in work
The meeting was talking about Covid & possible timeline (depending on how much worse things get) on getting back out in the field. But, I know I sound ridiculously optimistic! Come for me, it’s an opinion based on what I hear & from past experience with a buyout. I still think it’s very possible for the Suddenlink division to be sold. Something besides the usual insanity, doesn’t seem right lately. I wouldn’t be shocked if it was sold-regardless of how screwed up it is! Look at the bottom line, it has value. With people indoors & constantly needing informed & entertained, it’s probably enticing to the right buyer. Look at how they have cut back on operation costs? Closing offices, cutting jobs, etc.. that’s what companies do to inflate the bottom line. I’m just not ready to give up my optimism.
Leases expire 6/1
Just saw two flat beds pick up a bunch of tech trucks, anyone know why they are shipping trucks out
It was about software. What a trouble maker.
I appreciate you making sense but it won’t work. People believe what they want to believe. I just feel bad for anyone who might get hope when they see a post like this. It’s not right.
There is no sale happening. They are currently bleeding the company dry of every cent they can extract from it since all of their European businesses are garbage. Let’s face it, THEY destroyed those companies doing what they do. This company is being destroyed the same way and then what will they do? Buy and wreck more companies - just like they always do.
Any news about this per the Big meeting this week?
Altice drastically cutting expenditures is simply what they do. They do the same thing in Europe. There’s no sale of the company. It’s just the new company reality.
Those of you that were around for the last 2 merger/acquisitions,a pattern was formed."Trimming"fat while cutting back on expenditure costs.Fiber, construction,"frivolent" tenures, etc. The writings on the wall,so to speak.I do not claim to have any special knowledge, but financial indicators all point to cleaning house.Whether buy or sell it is coming. That is a fact.Get your'e affairs in order, the "machine" is pressing onwards...
There would of been an announcement by now, does not make sense
@4znx+14YwrTDl That’s how I see it too. Plus nobody is shelling over billions in this climate. Other mergers and acquisitions have been called off. Doesn’t make sense.
Op is most likely just a bs fire starter. Probably gets off being the “guy in the know”. It’s pretty freaking odd to think that low level guys like us would ever get a hold of high level info like that.
Where are you getting your information?
Altice is just saving money that was being spent on worthless employees, changing their structure, taking in account for parts as required per each project, if anything they will probably change ATS and make those employees actually earn their wages, justify they are being productive. In my opinion no sell off
Any other systems seeing these changes or anything else?
I was told by a ex Director in California that there was going to be a big change coming, not sure if it was just for California or all of Suddenlink by the sounds it’s everywhere
Thank you for updating us... 🇺🇸
just the Suddenlink footprint, or all of it?
In Missouri, offices are being shut down & some jobs have been lost. Even before the office was shut down, it was operating without an influx of money to cover normal operating costs for making a copy, pens, faxing, etc. Usually this is to cut expenses so they look better on paper & more appealing to a buyer. So it feels like this is completely logical especially being Altice/Suddenlink. We have a big meeting later this week. They usually get re-scheduled but if not I will update everyone what we are told! Good luck.
Charter, from what I heard! Should know later this week. Big Meeting, if it doesn’t get canceled again.
Stop making stuff up. The company is not sold

Post ID: @zbu+14YwrTDl Yea right. If altice was sold or merging dont u think we would hear it on the news or internet?

hey genius, many times deals are in the works and not finalized and rumors fly. when the papers are signed then both companies (the buyer and seller) put out a press release.
Altice is 53 billion in debt. They aint buying squat. Charters stock is like 500 a share, altice 25 a share. Altice couldnt afford what charter would want. Charter has the dough and can leverage to buy or merge altice
Altice and Charter Spectrum run similar, Altice has the cost cutting advantage and don’t care about quality. Charter has the most experienced with techs and knowledge especially since Altice made all the experienced tech run. Charters footprint would be ruined by service quality. Could be a good thing if Altice sells off to others, but if Charter sells to Altice its game over techs are going to hate it.
Over six months ago,Spectrum got their books in order.Cut out all kinds of expenditures. No more trucks unless OSP(techs drive vans only now),no more out of footprint benefits, uniforms reduced the list goes on.I was told than that the brass gossip was Altice was going to buy them. Two problems, both companies are debt ridden and are so large in service footprint it most likely will not pass federal regulators(monopoly issues).Dont forget Drahi bought Cheddar and Sotheby's,while Charter way overpaid for The Dodger's exclusive televise rights. It is more likely that it would involve a 3rd party with cash, breaking up certain areas between the three(enter Verizon)that is not as "dominant" in the "cable" aspect of service.Verizon offloaded their debt 6 years ago by selling off mostly DSL footprints to the now bankrupt Frontier. It will get very interesting in the next 2 months, that you can be sure.
yep in my area which is the south, things are being prepped for a sale or liquidation. My best guess is a possible sale, but who knows with this crazy company.
Yes I heard that rumor, 2 days ago . That charter will have majority stake . And yes they fired most all altice employees . Closed warehouse , closed offices and let go some ATS . Sent trucks away , canceled node replacements unless emergency repair . Either it’s selling or it’s the worst managed company ever , customer casualties high .
