Thread regarding 3M layoffs

A lot of 3M jets moving this week

3M flight activity has gone through the roof this week. For the last couple of months things were pretty quiet with usual plant and NYC visits. Now they are flying like crazy... I wonder what is going on?

By tail number (skipping stops in St Paul):

N73M - Reno, NV - Burbank, CA - LA Int'l, CA

N83M - Dallas, TX - St. Pete, FL

N93M (Mike's G650) - San Fran CA -

West Palm Beach, FL - Miami, FL - Punta Gorda, FL (Really odd, three airports within 90 minutes' drive of one another on the same day including a round trip to St. Paul in there)

Dallas, TX - Atlanta, GA - Columbia, SC (this last stop is probably to the Masters)

Update:

N83M just returned home from the golf tournament. Landing around 8:30 pm last night.

Be sure to remind your leadership of this efficiency and spending discipline at every opportunity. Like when there isn't money for spare parts to fix our equipment, or the roof in the plant is leaking, or we can't afford new product development or advertising due to ruthless prioritization.

Operating costs for these jets are very roughly $6,000 per flight hour. So the round trip flight from Columbia to St. Paul would cost a little over $20,000 for each jet.

Discipline on spending for me but not for thee. Elitism and greed is nothing new with this group of 3M COC Executive showboats, the next time you hear them tout shareholder value, insert self- preservation, and keeping the good life and money train rolling in. This and creating soft landing spot at Spinco. They all know with 3M public failures nobody else would consider hiring the whole lot of this executive's team. When you have Jim Cramer publicly critiquing and criticizing inability to adapt to marketplace and effect change at 3M on CNBC you will be reminded of who he is talking about. The Moochin, MEGA Money grubbing
Failures in Executive 3M and management. Mediocre Maglomaniac Managers, meddling and piddling, you name it they have earned the reputation of failed leadership. If the board were not stacked,
With psychophants, and were independent this lot would be fired. It's a Great day to waste money and spend friviously at 3M, well for the Elites, so much for ethics. If they cared about selling stuff and growing 3M company as they do stuffing their greedy faces and lining pockets there would be some hope at 3M. Probably trying to broker some tax incentives and kick backs with State of South Carolina to broker Health Care headquarters in that State, well that and play a ton of golf. Mostly rack up the golf and smooch politician rears. Instead of intelligent leadership we have simpleton grifters. All hail the Kings of MM-Mediocrities.

Keep up the good work of trying (in a small measure) to drive accountability. I recall that years ago those of us in Engineering could look up financial details for any project in the company, including leases. At the time, I believe 3M maintained a fleet of 5 jets. Current rates appear to be >$10k/hr on the open market, but no idea what 3M pays. I would be really interested to hear if others have more detailed current information. Any way you look at it, a huge cost for questionable return to the company.

Update:

All three jets I listed before all have done trips to Columbia, SC this weekend. There are three planeloads of 3M execs at the Masters this weekend.

Remember this the next time you hear about 'spending discipline'.

It is spring break time baby! Off to warmer weather, esp. with the miserable winter that we had in MN this season.

Honchos are off to spend some quality time in sunny weather with friends, family and h..k.ers. Never mind that Rome, I meant 3M, is burning to the ground.

I'm hoping, in vain for sure, they are meeting to fire some COC members.

I hope 3M Executives have a miserable time at the Masters get rained on a lot, and the car service they are renting gets a flat tire.

Love the update on the flights. I bet it makes them mad that someone figured out how to monitor them just like management would run reports when salaried people clocked in and out. This is my type of equity!
