…but just freaking leave. It’s liberating. You’d be surprised at how well the skills you don’t think that you have transfer to entirely different careers. CAREERS, not jobs. You don’t have to work holidays and weekends. You don’t have to go in on your days off. You can have benefits. You can have a chair and respect and growth. You don’t have to be 25 years old. The first time that I had to (quite legitimately) call out, I was terrified, and couldn’t stop apologizing. Apparently, it’s perfectly ok, and coworkers and management just check in on you to make sure you’re ok. They want you to succeed because they want their business to succeed. Eye opening…Belk doesn’t care about failure because they failed, not you.
Take a deep breath, hold your nose, dive deep, whatever you need to do, but I promise, you won’t die. Just freaking leave.
