Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Any word on Minnesota layoffs?

I haven’t heard a word but it’s been so quiet I think something might be up. Su-ks that I have so little trust in our leadership that I assume they are always lying. I figure now that the self reviews are done everyone is safe…if I jumped through that hoop to only get cut I will be upset.

I guess Medtronic's goal is to make poor quality products while still selling them at luxury prices. GM and the rest of the board will bail with their golden parachute when patients' lives get impacted by the products.

And yet we pay exorbitant consultant fees while offshoring and laying off people who have the same skill set. SMH. Wait! It hits the books differently. Yeah that makes complete sense. Complete BS, I mean.

RIFs are happening today. CRM is being hit, don’t know about other OUs.

Not yet. However, I noticed everyone is on pins and needles.

The layoff executioner will come for all eventually. It is now the Medtronic way

And shouted but once more aloud,
'My father! must I stay?'
While o'er him fast, through sail and shroud,
The wreathing fires made way.

Find your way in the world or stay on the burning deck and enjoy the view till the ship goes down.

I believe we won't know until our final FY24 earnings call. From the looks of it, it's going to be a horrible.

Anybody with news?
Too bad that IT beefed up internal privacy. Old days, you could do an internal search and find all sorts of sh-t. And people in HF and sales compliance would leave sh-t on the printer

Ending summer hours, and doing it so abruptly, will have far reaching impact on the already low morale. I no longer have any faith or trust in Excom and upper leadership. They don’t care about employees and we are just numbers. Will they ever address the very low scores on the organizational health survey or will they continue to deny and tap dance? I think they have a large supply of dance shoes. I suppose those of us who are shareholders can vote against GM but last year he had enough supporters to override that. When will Medtronic be taken over by another company or outright crash?

Well, the company has 2x as many employees as BSX and is worth less, so yeah I’d say heavy layoffs for sure.

Two projects transferred to others, and no new assignments. Not looking good for me.

Then again, maybe it is looking very good. Maybe the grass really is greener on the other side.

Is Minnesota in India?

If not, it's on the table.

But as for your self assessment comment, lots of people had that happen last year. Even a couple that got E/E.

I guess it will depend on the OU and how is it's business is going. CRM s doing well enough, yes? Pelvic Health is doing very well (Pres of that group leaving is interesting - I'm sure, as others have posted, it's because of that d-mb f*ck, Brett Wall.)
Neuro business su-ks - bet they don't make numbers for FY24. They had such a hit last year, not sure how they could cut more. The other groups like MECC - not sure how things would play out. Config Assurance support for them has already gone to Mexico, if I remember.

The MEIC bullsh-t is strange - that may end up in layoffs here. Core services may get trimmed.
