Where has the OP been? You get a mentor (not your boss) who actually advocates for you if you're a HiPot or on the list to be recognized. The mentor is typically two or three grades above you who has influence when promotions and assignments are made. You can talk to anyone else you like but it won't do you any good career wise.

The best mentor at the company is an informal mentor who you meet at the office and have actual face to face contact with them. These types of relationships take years to develop and cannot effectively be done from a 100% work from home job.

There is a formal mentoring program called EMPower. It has more mentors that mentees. There is also training programs for both engineers and geoscientist where mentors are not usually assigned. You can always network and ask people if they are willing to mentor. Even if they can, we are so short staffed in some places, folks may decline

My manager has never been my mentor. He/She assumes I am in the team because I can do the job; managers are there to make sure corporate goals are met. I have always found mentors thru my various networks in the company. Don't make the guy/gal who does your annual performance appraisal be your mentor too....
