The sign of a weak, cowardly, ineffective leader is one who hides from his underlings in the face of bad news.
This is exactly what Jay Brown has been doing since the first round of layoffs in August.
Say what you want about the rest of the EMT, they're all incompetent and should be replaced at this point, but at least they've been putting themselves out there on company calls. Jay disappeared right after that disastrous shareholders meeting after sending out the email alerting us to coming layoffs.
It's clear he doesn't give a damn about his employees, only the board and the shareholders. He's a coward who's going to pop up again in November to announce the new round of layoffs before burrowing back into his hidey-hole while leaving the rest of the EMT and upper management to deal with the mess.
Just like Crown Castle should be referred to as Clown Castle at this point, Jay Brown should be referred to as Jay Clown. He's not as smart as he thinks he is (just look at his reading list) and he's been a disaster. How many layoffs have there been since he took over?
This company is done. The only people who believe otherwise have drank the PURPLE Kool-Aid and are part of a cult. Further layoffs are imminent, the stock is in the toilet, we'll be back five days a week sooner rather than later, and both raises and bonuses will be near non-existent if they come at all. Do yourselves a favor like most of the people in my office are doing and start updating your resumes now. The writing is on the wall. Wait at your own peril.
