The company and its incompetent senior management have managed to either get rid of most of the high performers through layoffs, forced them to quit, or created such a horrible environment that they left on their own. New people we're getting are either lazy, have no idea what they're doing, or simply don't care. But hey, they're at least cheap, right? Fu-k this, I'm leaving as soon as I can as well.

no future in payroll for sure. I should know, I am in payroll. It is tiring to have to teach managers how to process payroll, they don't want to process it and they have no choice. Then when I ask about what is next for our role, I get crickets, What I really want is a date I am done and when I will expect my package
Payroll is like the electric company. People expect it to work but don't think twice about it. Offshore it, outsource it, spend a little as possible on it, whatever.
No one is itching to move to payroll. There's no future there.
True that
@4ldx+1n4G0UsP Payroll may be " back office support function", but with payroll moving off shore, people are leaving the company so fast due to MBG/GBS not capable of processing payroll correctly each week. Without the support of "back office support function" you will have employees not happy if they don't get paid correctly and they will leave. So who will be putting up the soda and chips? Pay people correctly, they become happier employees who work harder to put up the displays and service the stores. I assume you must be salaried as your pay doesn't change and you never have a messed up check due to id--ts at MBS/GBS dealing with your check each week. The company will save tons of money as people keep leaving and no one to put up their product
Payroll? It’s a back office support function, not a value driver where top performers flock. Companies aren’t winning in the marketplace because their payroll departments are so wonderful.
Yes, PEP has lost a lot of top talent and offshored a lot of jobs to marginally competent groups overseas. They’re pouring cash like crazy into the 1000 person strong strategy and transformation group, which often duplicates existing functions. It will only enable more layoffs in the future
In a closed door upper management meeting they stated that soda and chips sell themselves. So why pay top dollar for employees and bonuses. Sad but true !
and there is more to come with layoffs or people leaving on their own. payroll is a mess and it is going to get worse
