Just shipped out my laptop and accessories after accepting VRP. They certainly did teach us to travel light. And just like that, a lifetime with PepsiCo is in my rearview mirror.

UN REAL
Every time someone moves within the company leaders start screaming, HR involvement, delaying start date, etc. even if the role is accepted and the backfill trained because no one can justify WHY they are still needed and can't further their career in another role.
Now they're saying "we don't know if we really don't need you because no one is capable of assessing an employees value to the organization before deciding to let them go." They should be mortified
Shipped mine out on Tuesday. Poof, just like that we broke up like a bad relationship. It hurts for a bit, but we both know emotionally we will be better without Pep.
Get busy living, or get busy dying.
Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.
I spent 36 years with the company. The last three were a disconnected, disorganized, dysfunctional mess.
With the intro of PGT was the time I knew my interest and passion left the building. It is a horrible platform that most still don't know how to utilize. That includes finance and what's left of administrative support.
Pepsi doesn't realize or care that at the core of a location's success are the competency and dedication of the bottom wrung aka administrative team.
I took VRP and my last day was Nov 1st. Got a horrible send off and felt very sad and discounted.
I will forever have great pride in he work I did and the service I provided my customers which were thousands of employees and internal staff.
I will take my parting gift of thousands and retire. Thank you Pepsi. I hope you will realize your future is not so bright if you don't put confidence and competence back into your business plan.
Box up your equipment, send it off, and move on with a better time of life. They have no interest in using your skills after severance.
I had the same conditions as part of my severance - being available to work during my severance period. That said, I was never asked to do anything - nor did my boss even bother to reach out to me, after their boss handled my layoff for them. I would have no reservations about boxing up your laptop and sending it back. Most managers at PEP are weak and spineless and won't bother to reach out to you following your layoff let alone ask you to do work.
Question: I was let go last week with a severance stipulation saying I need to be available to work if asked. Last week I had access until Friday, this week I don’t have access to the network. Will they have me keep the equipment until the last day of my severance termed date or will they send boxes to send equipment back now?
Brain-drain with many knowledgeable veterans boxing up their laptops
@1jsm+1vjxYHXF - Brooks was here. :)
🤞
I was so stressed for the last 15 years. This weekend I realized it was all for nothing. In the end I got a years pay and I’m a free man.
It’s weird, you know how in Shawshank redemption brooks missed the institution? I don’t miss it in anyway, in many ways what we went through is less humane than a 1950s prison, written about evil.
If I could go back and give myself advice I would say love harder, enjoy the moments, don’t worry about performance or work place gossip. Just exist. Observe to understand.
Don’t let this place stress you out because in the end it doesn’t matter at all. Have fun, and enjoy the people because when it’s over you’ll regret giving 2 Shts.
So jealous. I was hoping they would say payroll is done by February at the latest.
Fingers crossed they get rid of me sooner than later. I have been waiting for that package.
Congratulations! Mine ships out tomorrow.
Mass exiting 12/31/2025.
Joining you in February.
Congratulations!
