Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Are you kidding me?

I just got mail today from SF wanting me to apply for their credit card? I have a credit score of over 800 plus and would NEVER EVER agree to the terms of that credit card. It gives them access to my information through the security system on my computer for "added security." It also gives protection on my cell phone. So it gives them access to all my data? Sorry SF this ain't my first rodeo cowboy! Any wise consumer knows the less information they know about you, the better off you are because they will use that information in ways you can't imagine. Thanks but NO THANKS SF! As someone says here, China way.

@5uqr I don't think many people question why someone would continue working earning the salary that you're claiming. Humans are greedy and always want more. It's a matter of why a person making that kind of money spends their time trolling this type of forum since most of the real issues discussed here really don't affect your bottom line as you make it seem. With that kind of money your really should have better things to do with your time.

Non entrepreneurial types will never understand why someone keeps working when they do not financially have to, simply put, it’s the thrill of working, building something ( and of course being well compensated for taking the risk) that we enjoy, the money is simply a way to keep score. You are either hard wired that way or you are not. Obviously most are not and thus they are grinding away at that 42k a year job, unhappy and resentful and jealous of the successful ones. That thought process is what keeps one of our major political parties in business. Maybe that party will raise the annual minimum wage to $1million so we can all be millionaires?

Come on, anyone that spent time in the south knows that phrase has multiple meanings, not all of which are good let alone sincere. Absent facial expression and tone of voice hard to say intent and meaning.

After 38 years I have a great team that runs the show, I pay them very well and don’t have to show up much myself, I do still enjoy the clients, I have a lot of 3rd and 4 generations. Go talk to my VPA you say? Why, they don’t have any more power to change things than you or I do. Why do I stay? Why not, the money is awesome still, and no I did not exaggerate anything, I have also built a 4-5 million investment real estate business over the years. I very highly recommend the self storage segment of that market. Fkkkk offf all you doubters.

@3mgk. After 38 years, I could think of a bazillion better things I could enjoy but I guess after 38 years you're so addicted, you'll never get off their Kool Aid.

3efm+1buNBY5E, in general I agree with you. Especially for someone that seems as angry and unhappy as the poster, but there are many reasons to stay working while having enough to retire. I have 4.5 million of self made/saved money, but will likely stay working for some time.

On the other hand, I still enjoy my job, so no reason to leave at this time.

@3kdv If you really were that financially 'well off' then you wouldn't be on this website. Any person in the financial situation you claim to be in would have made the decision to move on long ago and enjoy their wealth instead of wasting their time trolling a website.

@3nks you should be bi-----g to your VPA instead of being "that" agent that yells at the lowest person on the totem pole who has no authority, power or ability to change anything.

Actually the primary reason for any attitude issues I may have is the 42k employees not doing their job correctly and myself or my team having to fix the problems, primarily claims and CCC. These people just don’t seem to take any ownership or pride in the work they perform, this never used to be the case. I have steered my kids away from a career at SF, we are well on our way to mediocrity. My comments were in response to the OPs obvious acrimonious attitude toward SF.

@3uyb. You have some common sense but your attitude needs improvement. You should learn to respect those 42K employees who keep your GD promise.

As usual you could not be more wrong, Midwest boy here, although the beach house is in Florida. I live like a king in the Midwest, bank a ton of $ and don’t have to put up with some fknuts talk about defunding the police, not that it would matter, our state is constitutional carry so we don’t get fkkked with much, normally the bad guys have a tough time as it is even odds the good guys will stand their ground.

Premium boy and damn proud of it, 11-12% of 3-3:5 million per year over 38 years, must have taken close to 15 million. How is your $42k/yr job? Got a second home on the beach? 4-5 million retirement plan? All the financial freedom you could want? The option to leave it all at any time? No boss, no worries? Guess what, I do. So this premium boy says fk you snowflake, keep grinding away at your cr---y job because you did not have the ba--s
To go for the brass ring.

Nope, 38 year agent that take no cr-p from jags like you and has zero tolerance for for the “poor me everything is a conspiracy, they are out to get me” attitude like yours. Me a snowflake? Hardly, what I do to snowflakes turns them yellow.

Jzzzus fkkkn chrrrist, so don’t apply for it then. You are obviously a super sophisticated consumer (eye roll). Get a life snowflake. If you go for a double layer of tinfoil in your hat that will prevent them from reading your mind also, not that it would be a long read.

Well 2nd and 3rd divorces are a common trend here, cant kick a man for trying to make a buck on it. I honestly think it’s hilarious that’s how executives view their workforce here. I’m happy I planned from the very beginning of career on early retirement.

They are all financially fu---d anyways let’s add into their behavior and make a buck back for it.

Genius.

How many divorces and domestic disturbances do you have on your record to be offered it. Going of any type of financial endeavors State Farm does I’ve seen nothing but terrible interest rates and tons of delays.

Or take it as a compliment you handle stress well.

BAHAHAHAHA

I still have my State Farm credit card. Now it's through US Bank, but haven't used it since they took over. When it was through SF Bank, it had a really good interest rate. Better than most.

Most credit cards offer these things. Read the fine print of any card and you will be surprised.

Where does it say all that? It says pay your phone bill with the card for cell phone protection. It gives a NortonLifeLock benefit. Cash back. Rental car damage waiver.

I also have a credit score over 800 and actually was thinking this was a somewhat decent offering.
