Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

You dislike you coworkers and call names on this forum

Many negative posts on here referring to degrading se-ual acts in a name calling manner. If you are that deep into the negativity you need some professional mental health help. Go get it. Then pull yourself out of the dark pit you are in and find a more positive outlook on life. Everyone isn’t your enemy. Stop comparing your career to others and assuming if they are advancing they are bad people. You just sound bitter and pathetic. Recognize you aren’t perfect and have things to work on. Go work on them. Go find a different job at a different company where you can be happy. Life is too short to spend your time being so negative.

Hey @OP; wait until it's your turn in the proverbial barrel where you will be bent over and $krewed royally to meet some BS quota.

Can't wait to see Karma replace you (unfairly) with a black female tr---y of Chinese origin named Shaniqua Wong.

Then let's see if you have the same sentiments that you're currently spouting, you duma$$pr--k. Oops, so sorry for the reference to the $3xual act & name calling!

@4jub+1mofUd3O Your post exemplifies the name calling and accusations. Lying = jail? Did they break the law? If so you should call the fraud hotline. Different opinion = mental illness?

@4cpe+1mofUd3O Your post is exactly what I’m talking about. Implying people are prostituting themselves out for career advancement. While undoubtedly there are instances of this like occurs at every company, clearly it is definitely not occurring wholesale across the company.

Well math over the long term may not be your strong suit or the ability to see life decisions from a point of view other than your own. The land of me-me! Only an "I" in your world! Some people post here with hope that someone in a position that can influence change might read it, make changes so people can enjoy their careers here. So sorry you don't understand others perspective me-me!

@1elq+1mofUd3O, oh yeah, and you are in the Management line like the greatest and brightest. Sometime these EM defenders of the faith think that they are omnipotent. The problem is not to find a new job or always looking for a new job, because there is always one for everybody, the problem is like many of these EM omnipotent people or chosen ones thinks that they are always right. The other problem is like you are mad because you can not find who is answering you in this website and you can not run toward to your boss office to tell who is pointed problems at EM in this website, because it is the way that you have been advancing positions in this company.

Please remember that most of these "negative" employees were recruited to ExxonMobil with the statement by management that "You have a job for life if you work for ExxonMobil."

Fool an employee once, shame on management. Fool an employee twice, shame on the employee.

@1fgp+1mofUd3O People change jobs and remake themselves in new careers with new companies all the time. It is the norm. You are lying to yourself. Stop being so negative and miserable and make a change.

Name calling and lack of professionalism just shows the character of the person that is posting "Anonymously" on TheLayoff.com.

With that said, ExxonMobil management is also demonstrating a "lack of professionalism" when they are not willing to admit to the general public and to their employees that they have been implementing a global layoff since June 2020.

No company reduces headcount from 75,000 employees in December 2019 to 50,000 (estimate) by December 2023 by stating to the public that 33% of the workforce needs significant improvement. Our management team should also be "NSI'd" for recruiting such a large percentage of NSI employees.

realizing that a big career decision one made years ago has now crashed due to very bad management decisions<

Yes, that would be disappointing; but its called capitalism. Your goal as a productive individual is to negotiate the curve ba--s thrown your way.

The best way I found to manage job disappointment (which I have had my share) is to NEVER stop looking for the next job. I worked for 8 different oil companies (the last 15 years for Exxon) always leaving after getting a better offer I got a ton of experience and I was able to retire in good shape.

Take back your control. Never stop looking for the next job. You need to be in a position to say good bye to the company and move on to the next opportunity (without burning bridges).

I am an EM employee, I do not why I am too negative, would you tell me why? Maybe it is you, but I do not why people like you defending something that is wrong from the beginning and claim that EM is right in everything and still defending what is wrong. I do know if I want laugh or cry reading the defenders of faith posting such a statement.

There will always be losers and whiners. That is the nature of things. Nothing wrong with that; this is what this site is all about. I say let the losers lose and the whiners whine. Sing your song loud and clear for all to hear. It’s healthy to vent. Thanks!

Thanks, OP for the Pollyanna advice. Maybe there are very good reasons for the deep negativity, e.g., realizing that a big career decision one made years ago has now crashed due to very bad management decisions. The big reputation of the Company turned out to be smoke and mirrors. Most reasonable people would be pretty damn upset by that and by the prospect of leaving the Company because their career prospects are now gone. I think it's actually healthier to face reality, vent a little and provide insights to like minded people. Fvcking dirty Company wh0re

@OP You must be new here.

This forum is actually quite tame by the standards of the modern internet, especially when compared to forums like Reddit or the Yahoo comments sections. I take your point though.
