Hearing rumors of layoffs coming? True or folks looking to create churn. On one hand, people are still leaving, so I am confused for the need to layoff vs just stop hiring.

it is definitely happening in the fishkill and malta sites - numbers much less than 2018 so far. i know multiple senior level engineers from smts to dmts that have been let go in past week. it is being done very quietly and expected to continue without a single clear date as we saw in 2018.

Another case of executive greed - when more is not enough,
- said that the business's great, so why's mass workforce reduction now? his bonus is not big enough?
These are smart layoffs, few people every few days, so the government doesn't have to be informed, and is a call for attrition too. If it was truly about organizational efficiency, communication would have been made to directors and above to cut their staff... but the fact that it was in a broadcast.... is a message for people to leave whoever can. Top brass has started receiving golden parachutes as incentives to leave. More people leave, easier the IPO. Who cares if this drain hurts in the long run..... IPO will fix everything!

Workwise (Phase-2)- transfer American and European jobs offshore then ask for more subsidies from the Governments.
Phase-3 (name TBD) – reopen Fab11 in China.
It’s really disgusting – while the top brass receives Golden parachutes, rank-& file employees thrown away without severance package.
