Shame on the management - this could have been avoided.

The CSC outsource was about getting someone to spend the money and do all the hard work to bring it back when it was done. Ascension followed the same model as CSC after it came back in house.

@4bmso+16pHVfLY - From the WARN notice that was sent to the State of Missouri, sounds like they are keeping the apps folks around until after Aug. 8th, 2021...

Were the apps analysts let go immediately or given notice? By law (WARN Act,) they should be given at least 60 days notice for a layoff of that many people.

Big termination yesterday. 4/27/21 . all analysts supporting EHR let go. Jobs outsourced to India. Over 1000+ affected

I wish when people post they would be more clear about what they "heard". Operational do you mean business? I do know for a fact that some EHR support has already been outsourced. Some clinical people had to reapply for their jobs. If you listened to the call on Friday they want 90% to be project work. My take away is that application support will be outsourced and they will keep some to do project work. We will find out more tomorrow for sure.

And next week we will hear who is outsourced and or layed off. Clinical will stay Ascension, other, operational within be outsourced/ let go

By no means were they trying to avoid this lol! They’re saving lots of money cutting employees. Head reduction planned since late 2018 after someone cut penalties for off shore

"Since when did they implement the no metrics no severance rule?"

Just as soon as they figured out they could save even MORE money by screwing their long-term, loyal employees. Ascension is circling the drain. Anyone who wasn't affected by this round needs to GET OUT SOON!

If you don't meet metrics or something, they'll withhold your qualifications for severance is what I'm understanding, like 3 out of the 4 year end type stuff...fcr, quality, tt, wrap time

To everyone saying the CIO and his cronies will "get theirs" - surely you aren't that naive. People at that level have their golden parachutes well planned and built into their employment contracts. They pretty well can't be harmed financially by being dismissed. They simply move on to their next hatchet job or, when ready, retire happily to their lake house.

"One day it’ll be the CIO and his cronies turn to be cut and they’ll have a taste of their own medicine"

They don't care, look how much money they make.

And he isn't a CIO, he's a hatchet man. He likes numbers, not people.

Watch, the next group to go will be provisioning as they move to sail point. I'm really curious about the application development teams too.
These cuts aren't done. It's slow and in segments...
To those who are currently "safe", get out now while you have the time.

Won’t be surprised if, down the road, other teams within Ascension Technologies get cut and/or outsourced like ERP, Service Desk, NOC, Server and Security ops are this fall

Sitting here and listening to today's BS Friday AT call. Accepting the corporate dribble with less and less validity now. I was not directly affected by this latest layoff myself, but I was just lucky. I know that my time here with this company is terminal, and based on I-don't-know-what. With Gerry Lewis at the helm, I definitely don't feel secure, and I am now wishing that Mark Barner would come back, but that's ridiculous thinking. I hoped for retirement with Ascension but I now know that this is a false and irrational hope.

For anyone left, I would merely suggest to grab ANY training opportunities that AT offers before those are cut off.

So sad to watch the current CIO continue to recklessly dismantle IS/IT. Anyone who worked along-side him in his former roles saw this coming years ago. Sure- there's no easy way to make dramatic changes but there is a right way and it would never occur to him what the right way is. He's a poor leader who has no business leading an organization full of human beings...

@cksg+16pHVfLY - The only recourse you have is to #1) - leave AT immediately forgoing your severance package and any money and benefits you would have earned between now and your separation date or #2) - feed them false information or refuse to do it and run the risk of losing your job immediately if found out. Neither are good options, best just to get on with it and make the best of it.

We are already being asked to train hcl employees oversees to take over our jobs. What recourse do we have?

Ascension has made their position perfectly clear over the past several years - they have proven their alleged "values" are BS. Leadership has ZERO compassion or caring
for the people who work for them.

Today's All Hands meeting started off with the usual recognitions...including those who reached milestone years. Meeting presenters giving thanks to them for such great dedication. Yeah, I'm sure the folks that have been cut, not only this go 'round but in years past also, had that same great dedication. So here's MY recognition to A.T....thank YOU for all of YOUR great dedication to YOUR employees. Great job guys...yes I feel so VERY secure.

But hey we got to meet some faces from HCL & Accenture. All smiling and self-promoting, so that's good. Makes us all feel safe.

At least 500 on the service desk. I wonder how Ascension is getting away with keeping this quiet. They seemed rather proud of how well the vendor treated their employees during the site visit, so why not share the not with the world?

@5ock+16pHVfLY - Ascension is keeping that number close to their chest but I know that ent compute has 205 employees and I believe all are impacted, at least initially. Service Desk is also impacted and they are another big organization.

2 weeks PTO is correct. 10 PTO, 10 paid Holidays.

Non-Competes can be difficult to enforce and require the enforcing side to use lawyers. The bigger issue is if your employee is willing to stand up. Often, it is easier for them to drop you and move on to the next candidate.

That being said, the enforcing company also needs to find out that you're employed by another company where the non-compete would take precedence. Lastly, non-competes are not valid across State lines in the US.

@4yvr+16pHVfLY - Does anyone know what HCL's confidentiality and non-compete agreements entail? Also, heard that all they offer is two weeks PTO per year.

Ascension has been planning this for years; remember, they went court to ensure they dont have to honor the pension plans: "Under the settlement... Ascension agrees to make a one-time $8 million cash payment to its pension plans and adopt certain ERISA-like protections. The protections include the guarantee of plan benefits through June 30, 2022, and regular financial notices about the plans.

The Ascension pension plans, however, will still be considered “church plans,” which are exempt from ERISA, or Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the federal law that sets minimum standards for pension and health plans."

2022 sounds about right.

HCL will make sure you sign Confidentiality Agreements and noncompetes if you choose to stay. When they get the resources they need they will turn around and lay you off again within a few years. All depts are going to india after that.
