No, Oxy is NOT re-hiring peeps who took the VSP!! Quit asking and starting hurtful rumors! I know this to be true because like I said in an earlier post, I actually work HR at Oxy! Sheesh

Oxy was a horrible place to work, and from the looks of it, still is. There are much better companies in much thriving industries out there. Sure things s— now because of covid, but honestly, it's a horrible place to work. Why stick around for too long?
You are an inspiration to all. The world appreciates people like yourself.
"Did you solicit your return or did they call you out of the blue?"
I'm not the VSP poster from this thread but from the other one. I'll answer your question from my perspective.
I did not solicit it nor was I necessarily called out of the blue. I'd been answering a few questions from my Oxy counterpart out of courtesy over a few months. When they mentioned they were leaving they also mentioned someone else might be calling me with more questions. During that followup the idea was raised to come back and help out. I was very hesitant but said I'd consider it if the VSP clawback was waived (in writing) and I could work from home permanently. They agreed to it. To be clear, I've got no loyalty to Oxy at all. I treat this like a consulting gig. I'm doing what they'd like of me and as long as it's not too onerous I'll keep going. If they ask too much of me I'll bail without a second thought.
Did you solicit your return or did they call you out of the blue? Many of us would dream about having that option to come back since VSP has run out and insurance is all set. It is very difficult to find quality opportunities for cash flow in this world.
I was hired back. I have legacy knowledge and was asked back for a smaller salary but a bit higher bonus % with the flexibility of remote work and a request to limit my announcement of returning to Oxy. A good amount of my 401k is tied to oxy stock so I am happy to come back and help get that back up. I really only expect to be here a few more years and wouldn't be upset if let go earlier.
So HR girl, you are wrong... please back down off your ledge. For your info, I was brought on my a VP in my dept and talked to only 1 director and 2 vp level hr people.
I love how the OP thinks that "I work in HR" is somehow a sign of credibility.
All lies. NO VSPers have been hired back.
@ikfg some in IT were called back, too. I also know one person in chain supply who was called back
Web can all believe that because VH is easy and will ok anything.
OP, I’m calling BS. I have it on good authority that a few EHS managers who took the VSP were recently re-hired back.
Question to you all. Are you planning on f—ing living forever? This corporate nonsense does not make a life.
You are very wrong. There are plenty of VSPers who are talented and have just retired because of age and experience. We feel bad about the VSPers who cannot get employed who are not ready to retire from the industry. They are the ones who have gotten screwed from this entire deal. They would have been better staying with the company. But they didn’t know what big bonus was given to those who were here last spring. It is almost like VH intentionally stuck it to the VSPers and thought they were not “engaged” so they lost out.
All the talented vsp'ers have already found a job and enjoying their vsp. All the untalented are still crying, pointing fingers at everyone. VH was a mistake. Oxy management are clueless and toxic. But the oxy workforce was great. Loved my former coworkers.
You should know, given the ethics and integrity you represent at Oxy, HR 'person'
After all, you enable and defend people who persecute others for being born differently, affecting their lives, families and health - and you do it thinking there will be no consequence coming back on you at all.
Yeah, keep thinking that. We'll get to see the look on your face when you realize how wrong you are. Lets see how you like it when YOU have to pay for what you did.
