Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

I'm sorry if I don't bend the knee

For those A-type personalities that exhibit narcissistic and bullish tendencies. I'm sorry:

  1. That I don't hang on your single word. Just because you may be well spoken, doesn't necessarily make you right all the time.
  2. You may be a little quicker on the responses to questions or circumstances. It's possibly because I'm performing tasks that are beneath you, but need to be done regardless.
  3. I push back against your rude or often attention seeking behavior. Your need to have the last word does not override my right to exist, speak or have independent thoughts.
  4. If my motivation is to perform my duties and get through the day, So I can return to reality afterwards without being caught up in your attempt to play mind games. Which we know are sad attempts of control and enacting influence.
  5. That you are so insecure, you have to try and rally others around you as a defense to anyone that challenges your superiority.

FYI.. If you don't understand the characteristics of a narcissist. Which are, a a mental health condition that affects how a person views themselves and others. It's characterized by a persistent pattern of grandiosity, and often but not always, lack of empathy

What makes you so sure these posters are people who quit or are no longer employed and holding onto grudges? I’m still employed and I agree with them. You can’t change this company. They are destined to fail for all of the reasons mentioned.

You might be the minority here. More power to you for trying to stay positive. But the reality is that this company is a mess that is looking to get rid of all of us for cheaper labor.

Again, these posters are those who quit Gainwell and holding onto grudges of wrong done to them OR
Those who choose to stay and quit - basically, do nothing.

Give up grudges and move on!

Gainwell can’t be changed. It’s on a crash course to failure. No single employee can stop it from sinking.

Even thinking you can change Gainwell is ridiculous.

If you think you need/want to change Gainwell it’s best to move on. Find a new job. Get away from the toxicity.

I agree. I have seen people that thought they could change Gainwell. None of them work here any longer.

You can’t change a company if this size that is being ran by a bunch of incompetent fools.

Even thinking that you can change it is ludicrous. The culture is created. The framework that the leaders want is in place. Trying to change it is a losing battle.

Staying around and trying that is just going to end in you stressed out and unemployed.

No chance that you will influence change within Gainwell Technologies. Zero chance…

I get a feeling that ppl who already quit Gainwell are the ones posting like the previous post. Unemployment or not - time to decide. It could apply to you the one who posted.
Don’t hold onto the grudge - let it go!
I agree to the post which said it well - we all can work for a “bad” company but still enjoy the work with good coworkers and decent mgr who cares for you.
Only suggestion - if you can influence change for the positive impact on multiple colleagues - let’s do it!!

Good people can work for a bad company. You can like your coworkers but you would be making a mistake to stay working for a bad company because you have some friends here. You are going to find yourself in the unemployment line.

Internal transfer? Good luck with that. If you're not in good with your manager, that person can block any chance of you moving to another department.

Next, I know of least 3 times during my tenure here. Where transfers between departments were done under the table. In other words, there was no job postings on the job site. But somehow certain individuals managed to move from one area of the company to another. Where there were job openings, but the general public was not aware of it.

This company has plenty of policies in place, but they are there merely there for the sake of legalities. And they do not necessarily abide by those policies unless it suites a need

We all know we are at risk of WFR at any time. I was simply commenting that I like my coworkers, and my project managers and manager are not bullies. I didn't say I love the company. As a matter of fact, I don't care about the company. I do care about my projects (for 8 hours a day) and my coworkers. I am just saying there are some decent people here and if you are not going to quit, then maybe look for an internal transfer and try another team. I am not your enemy and my eyes are wide open.

@Tex

100% agree. They are in denial or their heads are in the sand.

They are all at risk of layoff daily. Their jobs can be offshored any time.

Leadership is inept. Financials are in the red. The company operates illegally and unethically. On corrective action plans at many accounts. Can’t deliver what they promise. Sell things that there is no chance or ability of delivering. Losing more business than taking in.

Yep anyone that fails to realize this and says that they like their job has their head in the sand and is in clear denial.

There are many others who like our teammates and don't have bully managers. We all know the company is not perfect and we know the financials are not good.

A degree of bullying and narcissism does occur at Gainwell on a regular basis, I've seen and been a recipient of such conduct.

It would be my hope that people read these comments and see it as an issue. And make themselves aware that It is never too late to do a self-evaluation, with the intent of making a course correction for the better in their lives.

Beside, one would have to speculate on the personal lives of those that constantly practice a deviate behavior at work.

I like my work, the flexibility, my manager and peers and my compensation is in line with the marketplace. If we chose to work for big companies the BS above us is always the same

Congrats. Not all are so lucky to have good managers and/or co-workers. Or maybe your area is not subject to the pitfalls that others must endure.

Serious question -

Why do any of you stay employed at Gainwell Technologies?

Unfortunately you have some extensive bullying and intimidation by those who are in need of professional help or counseling. Unless you have a Ph.D. in a mental health field, there is not much you can do for those individuals.

Work on finding employment elsewhere when possible. If you review the multiple resources out on the web, Gainwell doesn't have a great reputation as is. And multiple people from different sources can not all be wrong.

Yes that also. For a company that is supposedly inclusive. There are plenty of individuals, management included, that make the environment exclusive and the workday, an agony to get through.
