Worst technical training offered by any of the oil and gas companies. Definetely not a place to learn new skills. More of a place to become a manager. May be lucky though, if you're liked enough may be able to get to actually try some new things.

@3yuj+192GN6Le or the geos who started in the shale boom just don't know how to navigate Oxy politics as effectively as they should. Tom-aaaaaa-to, tom-ahahahah-to. Blame the organization, not the contributors, for training failure. Oxy doesn't even know what the future is, they just follow suit once they eff up.
Because the geos who were hired since the shale boom started are inadequately prepared to meet the technical challenges of exploration and development of petroleum plays of the near future. Blame the industry or the individual contributors, doesn’t matter, but that it the reality.
Oxy has other ways of getting rid of people other than layoffs. Layoff promotes bad morale, especially after 2020, they are probably just going to put lame duck geos on PIPs and fire them if they can't meet the requirements. Kind of like they did in 2014.
Look on the employments sites, OP was right. Oxy HR fake news gang again, trying to change the subject. Will HR ever get laid off...I sure hope so.
