Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

DEI at it's finest.

This is the result of terrible leadership from the top. There are way too many people in roles they have no business being in. If you fit in the DEI category then your chances of moving up and getting roles you're not qualified for are very high. I see them cutting from the bottom and mid level managers while we have 100 people in support roles creating scorecards. You can only squeeze these mid-managers on the Ops and Sales side so much. PepsiCo cannot save their way to salvation by cutting all spending. Most departments only care about their scorecard and everyone just points the finger at the next department. It's absolutely absurd. The current moral and culture is toxic.

DEI, is serving Pepsi so, so well !!
Look at all the success Pepsi is experiencing. It's at all levels. It's alive and well. The company's that didn't learn anything from Bud Light fiasco deserve whatever they get.
It appears that PepsiCo is getting all they deserve.

@3xau+1vsR76uS the peter principle at it's finest. Others who are 1000 levels down the ladder like to think it's because girls have cooties instead

There's a good chance that anyone hired for or promoted into anything will turn out to be incompetent, regardless of which boxes they may or may not check.

What are all of the DEI boxes? Serious question. Asking for clarity.

We have a few that check the box, I refer to them as pulses or a warm body in a remote location.

@1gce+1vsR76uS. DEI hires are obvious & rampant. Perfect example: a campus recruit that checks all the DEI boxes with a degree in English History and is hired as the QC manager. Of course Big Blue is painting an outward appearance that they are a DEI company by stacking people in positions that they are not qualified as long as the DEI box is checked. A good percentage of them bail in the first 5 years anyway.

There is much mention of DEI hires and people in roles they are not qualified to be in. Who are these unqualified DEI people? Seems senior leadership is mostly male. Not many Americans in senior leadership roles anymore. But isn’t that because PepsiCo fashions itself as a global company?

Pepsi is in a spot where they are trying to justify the decisions they have made to have roles that are very unnecessary these roles are paying 250 thousand a year with 25 percent of pay for bonuses these roles don't have any purpose except go to locations to say they made a visit there is so much failure in productivity and safety everything from racking systems that are damaged to equipment that is garbage they have people wanting to fight or shoot which ever comes first they have location Managers on site but are being told how to run the facilities from people who are not seeing the whole picture all they want is get the product out at all cost and they have no regard to senior staff as when they put their input it's time to get rid of them clean house as they call it I can speak of this after 25 years and now unemployed when I asked what's it going to take someone getting ki-led before something is done??? Got say very toxic to the extreme

Think there has always some need for DEI on a case by case basis. However, now it seems to be a crutch for people to hired into positions for which they are not qualified. Why? Because of of their gender, race or s-xuality? How about you have a degree in the career field to which you are applying, experience and/or qualifications. I don't care if you have pink hair, 34 tattoos and identify as a cat. Can you actually do the job? You're hired!! Big Blue wants the perception they are DEI friendly. You see where this gets them. Sinking like cinder block. Large corporations are now seeing the fallout and abandoning this very practice.
