Suppliers recruiting Ford LL6s. You lost all Cred with that comment.

That's true. AAG, American Axle, Linamar and Magna already approached several LL6's asking them to file for retirement and work for them. Those suppliers had inside info regarding targeted LL's suppliers had a heads up to poach them so they can retire and continue working on Ford accounts. Many LL's already complained with HR but they did not deny nor confirm, meaning that SIRPs are coming . Linamar already has several LL's that were cut in August 2023 but they cannot work on Ford accounts since they were SIRP'ed and signed Legal Agreements in order to get their severance pay. Dana got some as well as Schaefler. Suppliers are getting talent that took decades to form. new VHE VP does not care about losing talent as long the headcount reduction quote is met.

At UnSE, by end of January 2024, 25% headcount reduction is expected. In 2023, UnSE got an exemption thx to VHE VP but he is retiring, and new VP is just a Yes W with marching orders to trim headcount. Main area to be affected are Trans used in ICE vehicles. FWD and RWD depts will merge into one. It expected that between 75 and 100 engineers to be SIRP'ed, most of them have pensions with at least 20 yrs seniority. New VHE VP is expected to trim down all divisions but in particular UnSE. She used to work there so she already knows who she wants out.
SIRP notices to be send no later than Mid-January. Many suppliers are already interviewing UnSE LL6's trying to convince them to retire instead of waiting to be SIRP'ed.

If it’s in Jan then yay for me for not having to do the check the box PR which is worthless. Also will give me time to go spend the rest of the winter in a warm climate.

@3ula+1q4eGx7d from what I saw, ford doesnt want tech people on staff. only project managers / budget manager types. they sometimes claim they do, but reality shows otherwise.

@2wke+1q4eGx7d Ford has repeatedly demonstrated that they

  • cut the most skilled and knowledgeable employees
  • then immediately promote the village id--ts aka the cheerleading FnF
  • then go on a staffing up spree because the remaining employees can’t do the work

The talent base at Ford has been diluted to the point that the contractors / purchased services / vendors / suppliers (depending on the area are) doing all the skilled work. Yes, Ford group think does lead some people at Ford to believe their skills are all that and a bag of chips.

Leadership is weak. It’s a tree of sycophants all backslapping and high fiving each other.

@2wke+1q4eGx7d Crazy idea but if I had a quality issue I would throw people and money at it.

"They only way to do this is to reduce the workforce..."

It depends on who they can. If they get rid of the wrong people or drive them away with job insecurity, it ain't gonna happen.

There will indeed be cuts again and again shortly after. Ford needs to significantly improve quality, designs, engineering, prove out, and launch. BF and JF in the townhall mentioned.

They only way to do this is to reduce the workforce to competitive levels and become more efficient.

Sometimes there are signs that sometimes evil this way comes. Maybe it’s s a change in management or a quote by someone in an obscure news source. It could be by reading something into financial reports. But without some reasoning, just picking dates out of the blue is silly.

As was stated earlier, always be ready. Save the first million dollars you earn because you never know when you will have to leave any job.

Yeah this is such a wast of text it's not even funny. Be ready to get laid off any day of the week, any month of the year. Always be prepared and comments like this will become more and more irrelevant. Drama is all this is.
