No new innovations and cloud customers have put all the new orders on hold due to ongoing recession fear.
It’s a matter of time and this BU will be closed in USA and support will be from India..

@3sss MPLS sold Pensando for $2 billion to Broadcom. How much more do you need it to take off than that? Like the bad guy in Robocop said and ED209: "Who cares if it worked or not". Cisco has acquired plenty of stinkers also.

Are you just that stupid? ACI was, and is, a miserable failure because it was shoved down the throat of every customer like it would solve all their problems and it did not. You have account teams and TSAs who were proud to sell a 4 switch "fabric" of ACI, but go ask those small customers, and some very large ones, why they decided not to renew their ACI fabric because the reasons aren't surprising. This isn't just related to Cisco though, VMware and their NSX story is no better and Arista's implementation of EVPN VXLAN is fragmented to be nice and they'll say anything just to make the sale, but a lot of times they write checks their @$$ cannot cash, but Cisco left the door wide open for Arista to rob them with trying to shove ACI onto every customer.
Arguably DCNM with N9K was solid but NDFC was a mess at first because of poor focus and two different business units not working together, that has all changed. ACI only had any real push inside Cisco because of MPLS, but they're gone and Pensando isn't taking off as well as they would have hoped in their after Cisco life, so they aren't perfect after all, who would have thought? (Sarcasm alert)
We need to get back to custom hardware where the big money can be charged.
It's not enough to say "we should charge more." You need to have a business case to show that you are going to grow profitability rather than drive more business to your less expensive competitors. DEC, HP, SGI, Sun and others went high when the market went low and their processors and operating systems are between marginally supported and barely a memory.
It’s not collapsed but has no growth. It’s now a huge challenge just to keep existing market share. Given that arista is taking over deals, last hope is meraki on segments it is playing. Fortunately customers cannot overnight replace all Cisco equipment and replace with arista. Migration takes times in years and need lots of expertise. Besides, no one wants monopoly. So we will retain 2nd spot unless juniper claims it which is difficult as juniper is not much better than Cisco.
The only way to show some profit and good balance sheet is layoffs. They will keep doing it and move things to India. They will try to encourage remote and pay really low salaries. That way they can sustain for sometime.

I am sure there is no new fking controller. Existing DCNM sh-t would be rebranded with some new features over next 3 years and released
It would be colossal failure, but who cares - all new leads would have vested 3 years and blame game will start

Its all about reducing licensing fees to Broadcom. Plus by now all those white box switches are a dime a dozen. We need to get back to custom hardware where the big money can be charged. Businesses won't follow suit, but it a last ditch effort for higher margins.
If not ACI, what non CLI tool is managing Data Center network? Certainly not the Nexus Dashboard abomination - trying to do too many things and nothing well or easy.
Nexus is going to Silicon One.
I think you're confused, it's ACI that is getting put into maintenance mode and standalone is going to get a lot more attention for competition with Arista.

I think the dc game will be interesting with Nvidia now also marketing their switches quite hard. And as part of the workload will be some machine learning clusters, will you buy it with one supplier or mix and match ?
But nothing to worry apparently we are also an ML company..
@nmg+1nOoJ9GJ Most companies are going back to premise. Companies found out in a bad way that cloud was too expensive. Selective applications will be in the cloud. Cost containment. Trend already started. Cloud is slowing down.

What about ACI and Nexus Dashboard? Not the next iPhone?
Maybe long term future of the physical Enterprise Data Center is in doubt. Only customers to sell to are AWS, Azure, and GCP - who want to build their own white box switch and controller. Probably the reason Arista is wisely branching out from the Data Center to the campus network.
Support and maintenance from India is the kiss of death. They can try and spin it but we all know what it means.
