When were you most disappointed in our leadership?

Even though most are disappointed in the leadership and their moves, they seem to be confident that they are great leaders and do everything perfectly.

When I saw that the worst exec in the history of the company, AM, was still employed on contract because of our love of Maduro in Venezuela and local inability to work without AM.

Now! Two years after the start of our “transformation” to a new leaner flatter more focused Chevron, we have move conflicting overlapping layers of management, more “chefs working full time on project reporting and “contributer organization”, and fewer Indians actually doing any real work. This has become almost funny, is a really sad sort of a way. Agile my a$$!

A certain BUs factory rollout and it’s initial two years, laid open the dirty underbelly of our middle and upper level management teams depending on your function. Beginning of transitioning away from Chevron Way to a more forceful management behavior that continues to this day.

Whenever MW goes on CNBC, not to talk about the health of the company or our forward plans, but to reassure Wall St. that the dividend is sacred, and to look good for the wine-and-cheese crowd by talking about D&I and cow manure.

JG saying we all have victim mindset after management dr-g us through a brutal layoff and did no planning afterwards so it was chaos, yet it was our fault morale is the toilet and people want to leave.

MW and his zero commitment to his employees. He will lay anyone and everyone off to move the dividend up a penny.

Return to Office acting like everyone wants it and it will miraculously heal the company instead of make more people leave.

When they said basically to just grab the barbed wire and deal with the pain of their mess for a while.

When MW went to DC at the beginning of the vax era with other O&G Execs to push for a mandate so we could return to normal sooner. These people won't let me update Notepad in production without testing it extensively in TEST. And yet, they wanted the vax forced everywhere before we could even look at the data. Also, whoever pushed for the divisive sticker BS (twice!) needs to be named, shamed, forced to do a few history book reports, then terminated.
These are unforgettable and unforgiveable for me. I was a CVX Kool-Aid drinker for many years, but no longer.

When I witnessed violations of Chevron and OSHA safety regulations and issued SWA. The SWA was ignored and I was issued a written directive to never issue SWA under threat of termination for insubordination.

The "king of layoffs" MW made me lose my trust with management. You can't trust anything that they say when they put people through terrible layoffs during a pandemic and right before Christmas. MW has no care at all for people. Its sad.

We workers lost faith in SR when they decided social experimentation was more important than performance. When what you looked like was more important than what you delivered. Personally, when I was told I was perfect for a leadership role, but couldn't get it because it was reserved for high pots, sight unseen.

During a BU townhall when JJ said that layoffs were not being considered 2 weeks before ESP was announced.

The day JW hit his ho-e-in-one at Pebble Beach right around when he got an $80 million stock package while the company was going through a 25% enterprise-wide layoff.

When JG told everybody they had a “victim mentality“ despite being ran through a 5-year layoff gauntlet due to executives’ business planning decisions as we minions achieved green dots on virtually all corporate objectives that they set.

When the company implemented the “visual indicator” system right as masks were shown to be ineffective and the vaccine was recognized as “preventing the most serious outcomes of COVID” while not affecting transmission whatsoever.

The entire company was disappointed for 20 years that galactically poor leaders JG and AM (Calaep boss) were not fired but in fact rewarded, paraded in front of the press, etc.

MW has made me lose all faith in leadership. He has shown his only vision is raising the dividend and share buybacks. A massive layoff during a pandemic showed me he just doesn't care and anything else is lip service. I won't stick around if he does it again.

I was excited to work at CVX during those times. And the leaders behind the curtain were sharp. Leaders today are hollow. I pay leaders in my org zero respect and they do nothing because they need someone to give them the answer. Blessing in disguise I suppose.
