Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Where did you end up going ? What’s your success story ?

For those that have left State Farm, where did you end up going ? What has been the best and worst about your new company? Did you get a raise or take a pay cut?

Injury claims here, we keep losing more and more people every week. I’m tired of taking their inventory and training new handlers that will leave in 6 months. Any success stories here ?

Isn't it funny to read people's comments who "think" they can control other people. Sorry you're failing to control me.

So little time left in your miserable life and choose to spend it here-how sad and pathetic. Must be terrible to be you . Tick tick tick

@3sce. You are one of many reasons why SF will never be as great as it once was! Nor USAA as well.

Left March 31st, 2023 on early retirement. As of 01/01/23 you can take early retirement and defer taking your pension until the full amount for your retirement is accrued(call HR and they will explain).
I started today with a new company in the metroplex at a much higher base pay, yearly bonus (figured pretty similar to how SF figures bonuses), medical benefits(employee contribution is an almost exact match), PENSION(as a new employee), and 4% 401(k) match (which is substantially LESS than SF's $1500 match).
At SF I was BI Claims Adjuster with an inventory close to 400 files, heavy on litigation. I am getting paid more to work an inventory of about 230 files vs 400, and no lit files.
But the best part is on Day 1 there was 0% "corporate speak". I almost cried. Best Wishes and Best of Luck finding a better place to work-even if it's not in insurance.

LOL-you can’t defend only say vulgar things. You are guilty as charged. And no it was not about selling your soul 40 + years ago. It was all about your lack of intelligence and talent. Keep tell yourself lies-you are the only one that believes them.

Keep living off the backs of those working and supporting you old man. Enjoy your entitlements. Do you ever get tired of being proven wrong? No wonder you retired in the same role you started in…..

@2syz. Promises made going into the deal. Yet, your generation wants us to pay for your college education and gender change. Talk about laughable!

@1tfa talks about entitlements yet is living his life on entitlements-pension, social security, Medicare.. And for more humor he thinks those are earned. He paid nothing for the pension and only a fraction of the SS and Medicare cost. Doofus. Oh yea he “negotiated” the pension when he hit the lotto and got hired by SF. Hahahahahha.

I left after the last “claims transformation.” I haven’t been able to find a job with the same pay or same benefits. My spouse left me and took my son and daughter. Life sucks.

Why leave? Most of the old timers here barely put in two hours of work a day. They will brag about it. Most are on this site, too. They’ll never leave as long as they are making a living doing nothing. For the younger people once you get trained there are multiple insurance companies that pay better and expect the old timers to work just as hard as you.

@1nio Excellent choices! I could have left at 55 after a financial planner told me I could have left easily at 55. That angered me because I gave them 2 more years than I should have. I congratulate you for living within your means unlike the other "fit in" types. Yes! Isn't it great to go to bed every night and get 8 to 9 hours of solid sleep. Isn't it nice to work with your hands? You and I are in the same boat and did the same exact thing. Isn't it nice to live in a state that doesn't tax you to death and you can even carry concealed and not looked down on? Yup! We too left the insanity of a blue state of entitlements!

Got caught in the first layoff/buyout at age 55. I thought it was the end of my world with a kid in college. The details don’t matter, but I moved out of 309 to a rural southern state where the living is MUCH cheaper. 4 pensions, free health insurance (thanks to another retirement package outside of SF), no meetings, no backstabbing coworkers. My wife is my one and only coworker. Successful airbnb, a very small but satisfying agricultural business, occasional very good paying side jobs, and lots of fresh, clean, warm air. I no longer owe my soul to the devil and have to fake smile my way through the day. Oh, did I mention I have slept better the last 5 years than ever before? No longer depressed and crying Sunday nights and Monday mornings. Its like being divorced from a long time abusive spouse. I never thought it was possible. It was a terrifying unknown journey with a very happy ending.

Retired! Get 5 checks a month living off pensions and other income. Down to one boss....my wife! Life is great. I do what I want when I want. Best thing I ever did was to get out of that joint both for health and money. You can have it because it will never be as great as it once was.
