Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

The Empire Strikes Back (LinkedIn)

Looks like the PR department is fighting back on LinkedIn to try to drown out the cube posts. My feed is flooded with “go Exxon” posts. All boosted by an ExxonMobil account. It’s kind of hilarious actually because it’s so obvious what they are trying to do.

It says a lot about HR’s naivety around the social media recommendation algorithms and what behaviors resonate with current job seekers.

@3ksd+1ek0zwLt you hit it on the head...those 2 brothers are the poster children for brown nosing at XOM.

Another EMIT guy who also appears to have been hired based on his nepotitstic roots also shared on LI how proud he is to work for a company that values and supports worklife balance. Further he shared how no one remotely questioned him wfh and when he had to work from home to take care of kids, doctors appointment, contractors working on house, and spouse being at work the company was so supportive. Well, if this is truly a work life balance supportive company then why do they not provide real flex to work. This guy and his brother are real suckers and have sucked up well at XOM to reach where they have without any real technical skills. Irony? There are many more like them.

One even brought his son to show his commitment. How far they will go to survive ROFL! We really could do better without these deadweights!

Yes the formal “ExxonMobil” account has been congratulating and welcoming new hire posts. The swag posts are humorous to me - probably on new hire checklist. I left to another industry and smaller employer and my swag was better and never felt inclined to post it on LI. Agree with another post - the issues need to be fixed, not the facade.

It’s amazing the places they will go trying to fix the exxodus issue before addressing the real problem.

I literally just saw 3 of the bootlicking posts on LinkedIn. Was talking to a few people about it last week. Blatantly obvious. Gotta ask yourself, why all of a sudden? OP is right, they are trying to drone out reality and fight the CubeMeme. Get ready for more “adios” posts after these paltry salary increases. Also noticed that new hires have been posting with their new hire swag.....just wait until their first PDS! The hope will disappear quickly for newbies thanks to TG Ranking System!
