IT Acceptable Use Policy

Regarding the IT acceptable use policy sent out this morning. Anyone else notice this has gotten more thorough with additional monitoring? This is making me want to delete everything off my phone.

Best to stay on your own wife. If you get on someone else’s wife, that person will know about it and know all the juicy details of what you’re doing.

Simply put if you are doing anything on your work computer no matter whose wife you are on the company can see it.

And now you know why this is going out again. If someone starts dropping their old files to a jump drive, then they can fire them for misconduct rather than give them a severance…and thus save some cash.

You should already know they can see everything done on your work laptop regardless of how its connected - their wifi, home wifi, network. The discussion was that if you're using your personal phone on their WiFi they can see, if you are using your own plan and they peek they are breaking the law. Don't use their WiFi for your personal phone.

Doesn't matter if you are on wifi. Security clowns have software on laptops that screen capture everything you do on them.

@3jif+1p1JM42N That person is being a troll. No issue with using your cc laptop on your home WiFi.

Why can’t you put your CC laptop on home WiFi? My office is closing soon, so I’m genuinely curious as to why it would be an issue.

Don’t put your Crown laptop on your home WiFi either!

Nothing changed. But they are sending a reminder to cover their butts when they start the reprimanding for using this site, applying to jobs, surfing the net, buying stuff on Amazon. Etc.

I turn WiFi off on my personal phone and have a work device for just work. You can’t be too safe.

Figured it was trending this way. Las time I got a new phone I made the decision to just stop any use of it for work or on the network at all. Not worth it.

They can def see any traffic that is using their wifi. Just don't use it. I've never put their email or used their wifi on my personal phone.

If you have their email on your phone, you have their security tools. One tool allows them to see and delete info on your phone, and their massive IT layoffs means that one cannot trust that they are using the tools properly, with trained staff. Avoid installing anything on your phone.

So hypothetically if I’m on crown WiFi can they just see the apps I’m using? Can they see anything else besides that? I always turn WiFi off when I get to the office for this exact reason.

Don't use crown wifi for ur personal phone. If you do they can see what ur up to.

If you are using your own phone plan and they peek they're breaking the law.

I always had a separate phone I use just for work. I got a cheap metro pcs phone and it is only used for crown business.
