Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

I would like to see Gainwell provide a decent early retirement offer to its employees, in lieu of layoffs. Anyone agree with this idea?

Get out while there is still something to get out from.

It’s going downhill fast.

Losing more business than is coming in.

Pretty simple math tells us that won’t work for long.

No Gainwell isn’t sorry.

You are a number.

Easily replaceable with someone that has no experience. That’s cheaper.

Why would they invest in you when you would leave?

This company is rubbish.

I feel sorry for anyone taking a job at Gainwell.

What is retirement?

Perhaps the individuals who are considering employment with Gainwell now need to think about how the company treats its employees as those employees exit.

I agree. HP froze the pension in what, 2008? That was 15 years and two company sales ago.

Gainwell has hardly made any investment at all in their active workforce. Why would they invest in people who are on their way out the door.

What does it even mean to retire in the modern business context? Give your notice and stop working, that's about it. They'd be happy to have you off the balance sheet... sorry.

I think the days of early retirement offers are over. The WFR is cheaper and has been normalized and accepted, in the industry.

I would like to see this too, and agree with this idea.

I don't see that happening.

I’m pretty sure, based on leadership actions, that they don’t care what employees think.

HP did that approximately early 2010s.
That's the last time I remember something like that happening.
