How many of you are impacted by the decision that's coming out soon around San Ramon HQ moving to Houston? How many of you will not get severance packages for choosing not to take your role in Houston? How many of you will move...? It was a good run in CA but Mike Wirth and his great employee centric culture has ki-led CA as it's known. Praying for all those that will be impacted.

The move Texas was inevitable. This is not a Chevron issue as thousands of businesses big and small are fleeing California with its high costs and imbecilic regulations. For those upset with the forced move, many of you voted for it with your choice of politicians. California was once a nice place to live for the average person. Remember, without a Cush job you will be the average person and get to experience the $&#@-hole California is for most people. Texas may be looking mighty good…. I left San Ramon for Houston a number of years ago and it was the best thing I ever did …..
So, on a practical level, how does this work and how will it play out? Was anyone here around back during any other forced migrations?
@3fby+1tLXKftV as a native Californian, we moved here precisely BECAUSE it’s safer for my wife and kids (including my daughter). We don’t have to rent a townhome in the slums here to get by.
I hope my daughter doesn’t have an accidental pregnancy, but it’s ridiculous to distill an entire life decision to that scenario, and if it happens we’ll deal with it (though with more inconvenience)

People are not happy this morning! Really sh---y way to roll out something so huge to the CA workforce. A couple of emails sent at 3:30am on a Friday. I predict a mass exodus well before the predicted move window of 2026-2029. Moving to TX is not an option for anyone who cares about the women and girls in their lives.
The insight on the lease certainly aligns with the 5 year migration plan.

CVX has a lease until 2030/31. They can’t move as of tax implications until that timeframe. So not likely they’d move to Houston now. They only allocated 70% space requirements knowing they’d be laying off employees and contractors…layoffs has begun.
OP must be a highly placed insider to know about the “move”, or more likely, knows nothing other than a rumor that’s been recycled hundreds of times year after year.
I think that they just spent way too much money to move everyone to Houston. They would have done that before. Chevron makes silly decisions sometimes, but not that stupid
Would like to hear from any realtors in the area that know how long the lease was that CVX signed for the new space.
I left with 40+ years as part of Project Alpha, and live in the SF Bay Area. Where are you getting this information that soon there will be a decision to move HQ to Houston? Corp did sell San Ramon Chevron Park and is moving CVX HQ "next door" to leased space in San Ramon Bishop Ranch (old AT&T digs)...
