Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Prediction: mass layoffs early 2024

Not really that hard to see the writing on the wall so it’s a stretch to even call it a prediction LOL. I will be really surprised if there isn’t going to be another round of mass layoffs some time in early 2024 during Q4. Good luck to us all.

RIF is easier than making products better

I guess I am naive, but why is RIF is better than putting money into making our products better?

Can lay off GM and his buddies. Medtronic will save over $100 million

Layoffs are a good idea to trim upper management fat including half of ExCom. Too many talkers and non revenue generating employees. Especially in GS&OI. Spin off Medtronic Labs and Medtronic Foundation.

@rur+1piT7ckA, go look at Boston Scientific's stock YTD. It seems a bit higher than MDT.

Every medical stock is down the last 3-6 months.

Many medical devices stocks are at multi year lows.
Edwards dropped 10% just yesterday. This has nothing to do with Medtronic in general. Stock go up, stocks do down.

Although layoffs are nothing new at Medtronic, they have been happening for the last 7 years every April-May.
