I would love for someone in leadership to explain how the scores relate to raises…I’ve only been waiting for a year and a half. Maybe they will be able to next year.

@gmtn+1tcNOBOs, dang 4 is only 3.5 percent? Medtronic is really shafting us. My friend at his job just got a 5 percent cost of living increase for doing nothing.

Score of 2 got a 2% raise, not much of a difference between a 2 and a 3

Neuro 95% MIP. Lots of fluctuation on raise association to your performance score. No one seems to have any idea what score equals what raise=your raise now is determined by a game of paper/rock/scissors. Great leadership makes changes of this nature with zero understanding of how it works. Don’t get me started on “summer hours”.

@8cgk+1tcNOBOs. The ranking system, I think, is similar to the stack ranking system. GE notoriously uses this kind of system.

@3eeq+1tcNOBOs, I was talking with a senior distinguished engineer today, and I was told that 1s mean PIPs, 2s are B pluses, 5s are once in a career events. The engineer told no one is happy with the new rating system since it's really still the same 3 point rating system as last year.

"We were told by managers that 5’s dont exist.
If you want a promotion you need to be performing at your promotion level, when you do, they say now we need to see you performing at that level consistently. Year after year. Is this the case for every OU? Or is it just my OU? What happened to recognizing the personal worth of employees? Genuine question."
Yea, a rating of 5 does exists, but hardly anyone will receive it. It's true that you have to performing at the next level to be considered for a promotion. It's very difficult to get to the senior principal level or higher because the number or percentage is limited by design. I think it is consistent across OUs. Some managers or OUs may give out recognize points or RSUs (very rare) to the "over achievers."

A solid 3 rating, 96.5 % MIP, you do not want a 1-2 rating else you should be looking for a new job.
