Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

What is the morale like these days?

There is nothing to hold up the morale when most of the remaining employees expect it can only get worse here. People seem to have lost all hope. I just hope I can get out of here as soon as possible. Sabre could at least get a little more engaged around replacements, as people leave, those who stay end up doing a double workload.

Good companies respect and treat their employees in a consistent and fair manner especially during times such as a global pandemic. Sabre has a long history of disrespecting work life balance, under compensating people, and manufacturing reasons to toss them to the wind when they start approaching higher compensation levels. The overall quality and capabilities of leadership is questionable at best. Sabre systematically eliminates Executive team members who have tried to do the right things for the business, the customers, and the staff. For those that believe otherwise, a day will come when you reflect back and remember this post while you are hoping someone responds to your CV and employment query.

@3dll+1cnLLmDC You don’t sound like your morale is just fine. In fact you sound rude and bitter. I was lucky to move to another company that values their employees, and is a people centered employer that understands a healthy work/life balance helps the company remain successful. The pandemic is not the problem at Sabre.

my morale is just fine, thanks for asking. You may not have noticed but there is a global pandemic which has decimated the business in which we work. If you expect everything to be perfect in that scenario then you are missing the point. Do your job and do it well or look for a job in a company that meets your ridiculously high expectations

Easily said than done. Anyone can be written up with a manufactured reason at any time. Deadline driven development is all that matters, the rest doesn't. This is exactly the term in SHS and they love it.
If the deadline is not met, there is always a scape goat chosen. This is the reality. The scape goat is always a developer and never a business analyst or a PM.

thats your choice to do double work.
You will be used, as long as you allow yourself to be used. simple as that.
