Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Upcoming GP startup cliff

Not a good time to be in global projects with the upcoming drop off in work. Rats will be looking for life rafts as the ship sinks.

Can’t even keep their country in order. Don’t expect top quartile project delivery. A walk down the Mumbai slum will give a preview of project execution.

@3dhj+1vsamchW and everyone reviewing the work from BTC stop correcting their mistakes. Let things blow up. Let the fires start. Let everything go to he-l. Maybe then Darren boy and his gang will learn. Or maybe then the investors will learn their lesson and fire Darren and Kathy. Let he-l break loose at Exxon so managers learn.

The mandate to design and fabricate in India, supervised by BTC, is a recipe for disaster.

There are so many fatal errors by BTC being caught by the HC10 reviewers that senior executives have ordered no records or tracking be done to quantify those errors.

If the HC10 checkers are kept completely out of the chain of design and build, then expect multiple catastrophic events on the scale of the Valdez.

GP is needed now more than ever. The contractors are using HVEC model and the work from their HVEC is even worse than what comes out of the BTC. Without GP projects would be a total disaster. The Contractors are a total disaster right now. Maybe management should look at them to understand what a future BTC heavy workforce would look like. It won’t be pretty that is for sure.

GP is a rubber-stamping and reviewing organization that relies on external contractors works, then charge all overheads back to the business lines.

GP will have to downsize due to startups then in the hundreds of new employees in India and that makes a bigger layoff. The required layoff amount will likely exceed the amount that can be PIP’d legally without registering an official layoff with the Texas Labor Board.

GP needs putting out of it's misery anyway. Run into an amateurism of self congratulations for supervision and above with nil regard or recognition for the experts that are doing. The sole purpose of GP is to generate career paths for the chosen few, just by doing business with itself.

Look at history, first cull during Covid was GP.
