Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Back to Office 2025 Coming for PepsiCo?

Rumors are all over the place in 2025. This may or may not relate to PepsiCo. To help reduce staff without using layoffs, major corporates will mandate back-to-work five days a week beginning next year.

If mandated, let's see who stays and who goes.

Show up and eat as much freebies as you can. Working in R&D I’ve been able to get by for years without buying groceries. I try and bring as many snacks and beverages home as I can every day to avoid grocery shopping.

@2dcf+1vFf2xgw - Four days a week? I think you over-estimate. I worked on a team with them and they were always off playing cricket or splitting their time with different accounts (i.e., Nike). Believe me, offshore does not give us a solid 30 hours a week ever.

Pepsi did this before. We had to be in the office or within one-hour's drive to a "Center of Excellence" otherwise it was considered your resignation. In I/T we tried to explain that we could, and did, work at all hours of the day/night, but it didn't matter. Then Covid hit and working from home became the company's salvation. We moved all over the world when WFH became so popular, but now that it's no longer necessary (for the companies) the US workforce is back to forcing us within one hour's drive of the office.

It's interesting to me that US workers could have work from home or, even better, 4 day work weeks - both of which would increase the psychological and physical health of the population, but there's like 8 really rich people in the world that are preventing this. Lol

Kinda hard to mandate 5 days back to work when there is only 3000 seats for 4000 people.
