Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Here we ago again.

Here we go again. Managers have been told to start looking at the books for anticipated head count reduction. I heard this directly from the source. Tired of it

I’m with you. But they won’t - look all the worthless managers on the street level still hanging around. We are the ones getting fu---d

Maybe this time they'll trim the fat from the top. We are top heavy!

Not sure why this is coming as a shock. They were very explicit that there would be another round about 6 months after the first. It’s been about 6 months. I was laid off in first round, though. Did they backtrack on that? Hope people are doing ok!

Because 75& of GF employees are either rejects from other semiconductor companies or newbies in the industry, who would have a hard time finding work elsewhere. The other 25% are just complacent and ok with taking whatever GF hands them..

Don't worry, while we are concerned about our jobs Tommy boy has unloaded over $16M in RSU/Option exercises in the past three weeks!! While other CEOs are taking $0 dollars in 2023 to help weather the storm, Tommy boy is cashing in!!

GF should just offer a decent voluntary one, I’m sure many would take it.

Also hearing, Lower overall number than last time and different severance package this time around. Straight 2 weeks per year of service. No 90 day paid non-working period.

Reminds me of a russian joke
"How do you get more milk out of a cow? You need to feed it less and milk it more"

Obviously, doesn't work.

All jokes aside definitely do this. It’s going be a big one

And those who remain picking up slack should too. Do you really want to do three jobs and only get paid for one?

Financials are looking bad, sizings are happening. More fab location cuts to expedite the outsourcing of jobs. If same package as Dec 2022 raise your hands, I’m certainly going to raise mine since I want out and getting double pay for a while will help cover how much I was underpaid by GF in past!!!!!!
