Now that we are almost entering the second half of the year, do we think there are more layoffs to come? Only heard of layoffs in Sales and R&D that happened over the past few months. Do we think more will come in other divisions? Has anyone heard anything. People knew about the retirement buyouts before they went live. Who else has heard things?

@30g+1jvyxdvqb You made it up? That is shocking. I thought all the hot air on here was factual.
At least you said it straight up. I like that.
I made it up. But then again, you never know when you've made somebody's list.
@2wa I upvoted that comment because I believe the stealth layoffs are an ongoing process, one that will continue until the company is sold.
I find more interesting the comment that "The list is compiled daily."
@2wa+1jvyxdvqb They are cryptic because they don’t have a clue what is going on and make stuff up. Or thumbs up/thumbs down based on how it makes them feel versus any actual reality.
The list is compiled daily. End of each quarter is my guess.
@2q4+1jvyxdvqb Ok that is getting lots of upvotes. Does that mean yes?
Y’all are cryptic as sh-t
Is there another round of secret layoffs happening right now?
“ This implies you know when and how many have been layed off historically.
Give me the rundown”
Why is that comment being downvoted? Seems like an easy question for someone forecasting future actions based on historical actions.
No? Tell me why.
Charity or not, the Secret Love Children need careers to make them feel important. While it's great to be born between first and second base, advancement in phony careers provides them the opportunity to feel they've "hit a triple".
There is not a single department at SAS that has zero fat. The only reason some departments have been spared of layoffs is that they are protected.
“ If history repeats the next round will be sometime in July. Fingers crossed.”
This implies you know when and how many have been layed off historically.
Give me the rundown
That’s a true statement, but why shouldn’t it be?
JMP’s revenue per employee is higher than SAS’s average. So, logically, it’s not a place management will look to make layoffs.
The Art Department is the CEO’s personal charity. He has every right to donate to charity, and not expect it to earn revenues.
You continually harp on these two departments. It would make more sense to pick a department that’s not making good revenues, but should be.
"SAS has never had a layoff."
That is a true statement for JMP and the Art Department.
Down votes can not diminish that fact.
If history repeats the next round will be sometime in July. Fingers crossed.
Yes, here is the text:
"All employees above Senior Associate are subject to termination at any time, with or without cause. Secret Love Children, non-Secret Love Children, and pets of the aforementioned Love Children are exempt from this policy, regardless of performance."
“Does anyone have the SAS layoff and termination policies and can post?”
If this person works at SAS they can look them up. If not they have no business seeing those policies.
Does anyone have the SAS layoff and termination policies and can post?
@gh+1jvyxdvqb What original statement?
I'm mocking the original statement that "SAS has never had a layoff." Of course they did. They always have. It was disingenuous PR bullsh-t.
First half or second half of the year doesn't matter. The past has proven that layoffs are not seasonally dependent. The past has also proven that there are only two immune departments.
Can haz layoff?🐱
Side comment: the second half of the year starts on July 1, not June 1.
For the past 10 years, real (inflation-adjusted) revenues have declined ~2% per year.
Over the same time period, through layoffs, buyouts, and attrition, SAS has reduced headcount by ~2% per year.
This is cause and effect. It will continue.
Layoffs will continue through to IPO. There is so much bloat in SAS, it’s unreal. Globalization has helped much of this but as restructures happen there will continue to be layoffs. I don’t think this is a bad thing though - if you’re smart enough you’ll look around you and decide if you’re working on the right things. If not - I would be working on an exit or internal move.
OP: which way would you bet?
OP you are just chumming the water for the crazies.
@a6+1jvyxdvqb Show me a SINGLE post where someone has said there have never been layoffs. This is why it is hard to take most of you seriously. Always making stuff up.

Yep, that's exactly right:

Yes, there will be more. They won't be "layoffs", as SAS has never had a layoff. They'll be "targeted reductions"; personal hits.
